TristanThe sound of my alarm pulled me from my sleep, I groaned and pushed myself up into a seated position. Today was the big day. Finally I was heading back to school for my final year. I smiled sleepily, hoping for the best teachers and a nice class with people I can make friends with.
The thought sounds childish, but I've had my fair share of toxic friendships to cut off and people to cut out. Last year, Sushan and I barely escaped our last mutual friend group. He's stayed in contact with a few of those twats, but they don't talk at school anymore.
For about two years now, it's been Sushan and I, jumping from group to group, never staying for long, never leaving one another.
I have high hopes for this year, that I won't be as alone as I usually am. Even with Sushan, I get lonely sometimes.
We've had terrible luck these past years and we've never been in the same class, so when I was free, he was often in a lesson and vice-versa. But this year, we will be in the same class, I just know it to be true.
And what if we aren't? A cynical little voice whispered in my head. I quickly pushed that thought away before it could linger.
I wasn't going to be negative today, positive thoughts only.

Chade
The piercing sound of my alarm pulled me harshly from my slumber, I tried to ignore it but I eventually gave up. I rolled over to one side and was met with emptiness. Oh well, I thought as I crashed to the floor.
I had seemingly just fell off my bed.
What a fantastic way to start the day.
I lifted myself up into a more comfortable position, the fall had managed to chase away most of my grogginess, leaving me yawning on the floor. I stood up carefully, I wasn't looking forward to today. The first day of my last year 0f school.
I was dreading seeing my friends again, not knowing what to expect. A small, almost timid thought popped up, one that I was surprised to see.
At least you can see Tristan.
I shrugged it off and I got up, promptly throwing some clothes on before it gets too late.
I stumbled as I went down the stairs, barely catching myself on the banister. My dad looked up from his newspaper, throwing me a disappointed look. He picked up his coffee mug and shook his head before taking a long sip.
I continued down looking away, embarrassment making my cheeks and ears flare up.
I greeted him with a quiet "bonjour", which he didn't reciprocate.
"Ne me dis pas que j'ai besoin de te tenir la main pour descendre des escaliers." He said, disdain oozing from his voice. Don't tell me that I have to hold your hand for you to go down some stairs.
I rolled my eyes, not bothering to hide my annoyance, and went to prepare myself some breakfast. "Chuis' juste fatigué." I mumbled. I'm just tired.
He shook his head, disappointed yet again, and went back to reading.
This was going to be a long day.
