Tristan

Lola came back in the morning, she looked exhausted, dark circles painting her under eyes. She plopped down onto my bed with a shaky sigh. I was curled up into a tight ball under my sheets, that day at the park still replaying in my head even a week later. Chade had let me stay over for the night, I didn't sleep much though as we spent the rest of the evening playing games, trying to erase the pain of our crumbling love lives. Lola turned to meet my eyes, seeing how frail I am. She inhaled, trembling slightly. She looked guilty, eyes flooded with pity. I hadn't told her that me and Sushan had broken up. I opted not to since she would probably act out and get into trouble.

"Tristan... there's something I need to tell you..." She hesitated, opening and closing her mouth as she tried to find the words.

"Go ahead."

"It's about Sushan." She finally blurted out, breaking her gaze away. I frowned, what had happened at the party last night? My mind rushed to conclusions, each and everyone making me sick to stomach.

"I caught him... well Chloe and I caught him... having sex with James." She said softly, pain clear in her eyes.

And just like that, all feelings of heartbreak disappeared from my being, floating away as I truly realised how little he cares about our breakup. About me.

My heart clenched, not that it mattered, he isn't my boyfriend anymore. But because I am jealous of just how quickly he got over our breakup. It almost seemed like he never had any feelings and us breaking up had freed him from the burden of my presence. I nodded, eyes misting a bit.

"Tristan, he cheated on you." She said bluntly confusion painting her features.

"No he didn't." I muttered, sinking further into my bed.

"Yes he did! Denial will get you nowhere-"

"He didn't cheat because he hasn't been in a relationship with me since last Saturday!" I raised my voice. Lola drew back in surprise, I could see the gears in her head begin turning, and then she realised and sorrow gleamed in her eyes.

"Oh Tristan, I'm so, so sorry for you."

"It's not your fault." I whispered, pushing her away gently as she tried to hug me. She insisted and hugged me anyway, I melted into her touch, her warmth comforting me.

"Thank you, my dumber half." I said into her shoulder, I felt her chuckle against me.

"You're welcome, my younger half." She retorted.

"Again, two minutes." She laughed outright.

"That's longer than most men." I rolled my eyes at her stupid joke.

"Not that your lesbian arse would know." She tensed, pulling away looking at me intensely.

"How... how did you know?" She asked incredulously.

"I did my research." Her frown deepened.

"What research??" She replied sceptically.

"You're a Lee Know stan, right? And also, you have too many Hwasa posters for a straight girl." She shook her head, smiling to herself. A playful glint in her eyes.
