REUNION

i bounce nervously on the balls of my feet waiting for the group of chaotic teens to appear with their baggage. i haven't seen them in over a month and i'm scared. what if it's awkward and nothing feels the same anymore?

what if this was a mistake inviting them here, what if it just makes things worse? what if they decide that i've changed and realize they don't like me anymore?

i sigh and rub my eyes tiredly. i also haven't been sleeping. i've been trying to figure out how to talk to joão, especially since magui admitted to taking advantage of him that night.

i haven't talked to him in three days exactly, even though he has been blowing up my phone nonstop. i eventually just shut it down and threw it in my drawer, annoyed with the amount of times my phone was buzzing per minute.

ive been staying with mason, while kai and sophia have been there too. they have all been really helpful and encouraging, always giving me good advice on what to do. sophia has barely left my side, i had to get kai to take her out on a special date so i could leave the house to pick up my friends.

i ran by my house this morning to make sure everything was tidy enough for them. i know they probably don't care, but it's my first impression in a new country, so i want everything to go well.

mase promised he would come by later to meet everyone. i told him that he probably doesn't want to because they are all gonna turn into total fangirls and ravish him with questions and compliments, but he assured me that he would be okay and that he wanted to meet them. so i eventually gave in.

i also told him how meredith and harper both fancied him, which he only nodded and chuckled at. meredith has an amazing boyfriend, blake, but to be honest everyone and their mothers thinks mason is attractive, so who can blame her.

"LYLA!" i snap my head up at the sound of my name being called, and a smile immediately finds a way onto my lips. meredith and harper both drop their bags, which the boys pick up with a groan, and run over to me.

the second their arms are around me, all my doubts immediately slip away. i no longer think this was a bad decision, because i honestly don't think it could get anymore perfect than this.

mason basically throws his bags down and skips over to me like a little puppy, with a giant smile, revealing his pearly whites. "my turn!" he smiles and shoves meredith and harper out of my arms.

he jumps onto me causing me to stumble back a little before i catch myself. i hug him back gently as he giggles into my shoulder like a little kid. "your suffocating me mason!" i mumble into his chest and he only tightens his grip.

"suck it up, i've missed you!" he giggles but soon pulls away as micah clears his throat from beside us.

"thanks for all the help with the bags." he eyes him sarcastically and mason shrugs, throwing an arm around my shoulders, pulling me into him subconsciously.

"you can't spell awesome without me!" he smirks and micah and nick both roll their eyes. micah grabs my wrist and pulls me away from a now pouting mason.

"good to see you again." he smiles and i giggle against his chest.

after we all catch up for a minute i lead the group to my car, and somehow we all fit inside. we make mason sit in the trunk with all the bags because there isn't enough seats, and he complains the whole way home.
