"I need you to be honest with me, Khalil," she says, and I shift my gaze from her, knowing what's coming next.
"What are you doing to earn a living?" she inquires.
I knew it was coming.
"Mi tell yuh already B," I stick to the lie, but her sarcastic laugh tells me she sees through it.
"So, you're telling me you make money through investments?" She probes.
As I nod, her anger simmers. "Yuh nuh plan fi stop?" her voice remains calm.
"Stop wah?"
"Yuh know wah, forget it," she tries to walk away, but I grab her wrist before she can go far.
"Let guh offa me, Khalil," she's still composed, but I won't let her go anywhere until we resolve this, even if it means telling her the truth early.
"Mek wi jus talk bout dis now since yuh bring it up." I tell her.
