[Anthony's POV]

The dining room stills with the sound of the doorbell. Everyone, including Stefano, are statues as they watch Caterina. Her fingers curl over her knife as she stares forward without looking at anything at all. If seeing red was possible, the world would be glowing fire around her. Enzo opens his mouth to speak.

And then everything happens at once-

"Stefano, stay with Daria," Caterina commands in a tone that can only be described as that of a Donna. She jolts out of her chair as Enzo follows, trying to grab her arm, but is too slow.

"Cat-"

She yells behind her shoulder. "Take him out back! Now!"

Daria looks to me as we both stand. For confirmation, I believe, and I nod. I don't know what else to do. No one knows what is going on right now.

"Come on, sweet boy," she murmurs as she takes his hand and hurries from the room.

I'm right behind them.

"Cat!" Enzo calls after her ahead as she reaches the stairs. "Wait!"

Daria scoops Stef in her arms, grunting out loud from her still-healing wounds being stretched. We both run up the stairs. At the top, we part ways and they disappear down the hall to the back door. I hear it open and shut.

I'm entering the foyer when Caterina reaches the door, pausing half a second to turn and confirm her son is outside. I nod once, even though I don't know why he would need to be.

Enzo reaches for her, but she shrugs him off and yanks the door open.

Leo smiles cautiously and takes a step forward. I look behind him. Thank God he is alone.

"What is he doing here?" Cat yells at Enzo, without so much as a hello to her brother-in-law.

"I'm here to talk, Cat," Leo says, stepping forward again, into the house.

She rounds on him as Enzo opens and closes his mouth like a fish - speechless. Confused. "How dare you come here!"

I am just as confused as Enzo.

"Cat, I was undercover," Leo says, his palms open in front of him. "I never did anything Enzo didn't approve. I promise I was on this side the whole time. Ask him!"

She eyes her husband. "He was under my orders," Enzo says.

I watch her eyes shift between them slowly, like a cat between two mice, deciding which will be her meal... and which she will save for her next.

Enzo and I both gasp as she slams the side of her fist into Leo's chest, pushing him back against the door. With her free hand she slams the tip of her knife an inch from his ear.

"I don't trust you," she growls at him and none of us know why or what to do. Leo stays still, eyes wide, and Enzo takes half a step towards them. Caterina pushes her fist into his chest again. "And if you weren't Enzo's brother, I would slit your throat right now."

"Cat-" Leo tries and I move closer.

This is not good. This is not good at all.

Her nostrils flare as she pulls the knife out of the door, holding it in his eyeline. "Actually I would have done it four years ago when I told everyone you were the mole from the jump."

"Leo, go," Enzo says, finding his voice, but a quiet one. "This was a mistake so soon."

Leo ignores him as Caterina pushes off him, backing up a step. Then another. Then another. Until her back hits the staircase banister. Enzo stares between them. I have never seen this look on his face. And I have known him almost his whole life.
