[Enzo's POV]

It took hours to find, but as soon as I see the house in the distance, I know in my gut that my search has ended.

"Faster," I tell Anthony from the passenger seat, and he accelerates faster down the gravel road.

"We should call the others," he says.

"Not yet. I want to see if it's something first."

I feel his eyes on me, his disapproving ones, without even needing to turn and see. We split up for a reason - if I'm wrong, I don't want to waste their time when they could be finding her.

Anthony turns onto the driveway, a long bendy one with trees that block the view of the house entrance.

After a minute, my eyes widen and I shoot up, leaning forward toward the dash.

"Stop here."

He does as I say and we both get out.

"Stay here," I tell him, already walking away.

"Enzo..." He's unsure, but doesn't follow. I hear his gun click, turning the safety off.

As I walk towards the red blob in the distance, something inside me makes my feet quicken more and more as the shape comes into my vision.

It's coming closer to me.

It's a person.

It's my person.

It's Caterina. My Caterina. My wife. My beautiful wife is walking towards me covered in red.

As we get closer, I realize what it is covering her. Head to toe. Her face is splattered, her shirt is covered, her arms and legs are littered with red blotches.

I start running.

Is it her blood?

No. She seems fine.

Who's blood is this?

Where the fuck has she been? How did she get home?

"Caterina!" I yell as I keep running towards her. It doesn't look like she hears me. She is walking toward me, but I can't see her facial expression. I can only see the outline under all the fucking blood.

So much blood. Too much blood.

Someone is dead.

But not her. Not my Caterina. Thank fucking God.

I reach her finally.

"Cat, baby," I reach for her face and she flinches slightly at first but lets me run my thumb over her stained cheek.

When her eyes meet mine, I see the pain. I see the heartbreak. It almost makes me fall to my knees.

One single tear falls down her cheek as she stands there, completely still, staring up at me. I open my mouth to say something to her, but her face distorts, cutting me off, as tears stream down her face and she falls into my arms.

The weight of her pulls me down and I pull her in my arms, wrapping them around her as she sobs into my chest.

"It's okay, I've got you. You're safe, baby. No one will ever touch you again, I promise..."

But no matter what I say, she only cries harder...

We headed straight home, alerting the others that we found her, but not to follow there. I even texted Daria to bring Stef to her home for a few hours with some guards. With Tony gone, it's as safe as it can be for the night.
