I stood on the lakeshore, the black murky water washed over my paws. No stars glittered in the sky, only a full moon. A red mist wrapped around the trees. This is the place I found myself in when Red tossed me into the crystal pool. The forest matched the one of the living world, there were even other cats trapped here along with me.
"Bone, your brother's kits have been born. What next?"
"Pine, we have to wait just a bit longer." I said smiling, "The weaker one is our target. But we won't be able to tell until they're just a bit older."
"Moth and Night also got a warning."
"That won't matter. I will be the ruler of the forest, whether they like it or not." I said, "Now what are the kit's names?"
"Feather and Raven. A she-kit and tom."
"Weak names." I grunted. I turned to face Pine, he had been in this forest for a long time and it clearly showed. I could see his ribs, as if the flesh had been torn away from that side of his body. "Gather the others. Our fighting skills must be sharp."
