Y/N POV
"That sign clearly said that this area is off limits Jenna." I state slightly nervous as I continue to follow Jenna up the dark path. Our flashlights on our phones being the only light source. "It could be dangerous." I add. The path became more steep as I look up at Jenna, shining my flashlight on her. Her cute outfit reflecting it back. Her eyes glued to the ground. Watching her step so she doesn't slip or step on anything. "Come on, live a little." She states. I could clearly hear that mischievous grin of hers in the words she spoke. I didn't even have to see her face to know it was there.
"I am living. And I want to live a little longer. So that's why I don't go into dangerous territory." I state at her. My nerves clearly being heard in the tremble in my voice. I clearly wasn't very adventurous. I used to be. But not anymore. Not since everything I had worked for was taken away from me. Just like that. In a blink of an eye. Everything I had known was a lie. Since then I locked myself in my room and only went out for work. Which wasn't exactly exciting either, with me working in a small cafe, baking some pastries and treats to serving them after.
Normally I wouldn't even go out to do something like this. But there was something about Jenna that made me want to. "I promise that you're going to be just fine." She grins at me, looking back as she waited on me to get to where she was standing. Right as she said that I looked up at her and not at where my feet touched the ground. I step on something that didn't feel solid. I feel my grip on the ground slip away. It felt like I was moving in slow motion. But yet it happened so fast. Me slipping away, Jenna grabbing my arm, pulling me back. Me colliding into her instead of the steep hill below.
For a moment I'm not sure if I feel my heart beat or Jenna's as she caught me in her arms. "I got you." She smiles as I pull away slowly. I wanted to pull away way faster, since I could feel my palms get sweaty again. My stomach twisting. Feeling her body against mine, but I figured if I went too fast, I would actually fall this time. "Thank you." I whisper back. She smiles in response as she meets my eyes. "I know you almost tripped because you didn't look down. But trust me as I say to close your eyes. I promise that I got you and nothing will happen." Jenna instructed. "I frown at her. "You actually want me dead?" I chuckle softly out of nerves. "Pleaaaase just trust me. Here take my hand and close them." She instructed. I hassitate for a second before I grab her hand. She interlocks her fingers with mine as she made sure to hold me tight, so I wouldn't slip again. Before she could say anything else I had already closed my eyes. Letting the feeling of her soft hand wrapped in mine rush through my whole body. I couldn't help but smile as Jenna slowly waddles forward to guide me. My eyes were closed, but I could feel her gaze on me without having to see her. I hope my hands weren't sweaty. I hope she couldn't feel my rapid heart beat with her fingertips close to my pulse. I hope I wasn't shaking from the nerves.
"Almost there." Jenna softly says as I feel the ground beneath me level. It wasn't steep anymore. It actually felt like a flat surface now. It still felt like nature, rocks and grass, but more sturdy. "This would be a perfect moment to push me of a cliff or dump me in a lake." I joke as i kept my eyes closed. "Why didn't I think of that? Missed chance." She jokes back with a soft chuckle as we came to a halt. "Can I have your phone?" She asks me. And without thinking I hand it to her. I could practaily feel the smirk on her lips as I did what she told me to, right away.
"Open your eyes." She states softly. I did what she asked, but got greeted by the same darkness I saw when I had my eyes closed. A void of pitch black darkness."Uh Jenna, I can't see anything." I point out as I was sure she had left me alone, if she hadn't held onto my hand. So I know she was still there. "I know." She replies. I can hear the smile on her lips. I was afraid to ask further. Why she brought me here when I can't see anything. But I didn't want to sound ungreatful. "Sit down with me." she suggested. She carefully pulled me down with her, sitting down on the jacket Jenna had worn for the last hours since it got chilly. Since I could feel the fabric against my legs. It was silent for a moment. "Jenna, uh, what exactly are we doing here?" I carefully ask. I can hear her giggle softly. Her hand hadn't let go of mine. And I didn't want her to. So the moment when she let go I felt me heart sink slightly. But after a second I could feel her hand gently brush up my arm, up my neck, finding my chin. I gulp. I hope she didn't feel that. She gently lifts up my head all the way back. First It confused me, but then I found out why she took me here.
My mouth opens lightly as I look up. Thousands if not millions of stars shining the brightest I've ever seen them. "oh my-" I let out softly as I had never seen so many stars before. It felt like I was looking at a video of NASA. The world showing me a part I'd never seen before. "It's- beautiful." I let out as I couldn't find the right words to describe what I was seeing right now. "It is quite a view isn't it?" Jenna smiles. I could feel her sit next to me. Our bodies barely touching. "It is." I answer my smile growing. My hands resting on the ground to keep me sitting up right as I was looking up. "Number 5." Jenna says softly. "Hm?" I reply as I kept looking up. "On your list. I think this counts as 'real' right?" Jenna chuckles softly. My eyes adjusted to the darkness ever so slightly as the moonlight lights Jenna her face up, just enough for me to make out her features. "You planned this for me to cross of my bucket list?" I ask with a grin. "It was a big reason, yes." She replies softly. "A bucket list means it is very important to you." She continues. My heart skips a beat as I felt my stomach fill with butterflies. My hand slowly finding hers. I could tell she didn't expect it. But within seconds her fingers interlock with mine. The familiar feeling of her soft and warm skin against mine consuming my mind.
She remembers every little detail I tell her. She cares about me. She likes me. And she means it. She isn't using me. She supports me and- This is real. She is real. I want her to know how much this means to me. How much she means to me. How I feel. "Thank you Jenna, this means- the world to me. No one has ever done something this special for me before. I can't find the right words to thank you." I state, still in shock about what she had already done for me in this short period of time. "No need to thank me Y/N. I just wanted to do something special for you. You deserve that, you know that right?" She responds sweetly. "I don't know that. But you are showing me that I do." I smile meeting Jenna her eyes. I can barely make out her face, but this time the real stars are reflecting in her eyes. Making them even more beautiful than they already were. "You deserve way more than this." Jenna states. "Thank you, I really don't know how I could ever thank you enough." I reply. My heart beating out of my chest. "Again, you don't have to thank me. Spending this time with you and seeing you smile is already enough for me." Jenna smiles as her fingers brush against my hand. Her eyes staring into mine. "Let me try to explain to you how much this means to me." I whisper as I see her eyes sparkle just a little brighter.
My lips find hers in the moonlight. Mine brushing over hers. Gently and passionately. Her arms finding their way around my neck again as mine wrap around her waist. She slowly pulls away, just far enough for her to speak. "At a second thought, you may thank me as much as you like." She smiles against my lips. Reconnecting them the second she finished her sentence.
