Chapter Fifteen: Actress

**Lilah's POV**

"Shit sorry!" I squeal as Zayn steadies me from almost tripping over my own two feet. God what just happened?!

Zayn chuckles and holds my upper arms. "It's okay Lilah. That was super great! Good job!" He smiles at me and my stomach flutters. He's touching me.

"OHMYGOD! DELILAH MCKINLEY! THAT WAS-" Jared runs up to me and pulls me away from Zayn. "BRILLIANT. PERFECT. BEAUTIFUL." He jumps up and down, a wide smile across his face.

"I couldn't believe it. I thought you two were seriously speaking to eachother," Harry says.

"Yeah, definitely. It was like you didn't need a script," Louis adds. I refuse to admit that we hadn't actually used the script near the end. It's not like it's vital information.

"Hey," I freeze as Thomas' voice drifts to me. I can still feel the closeness of his body to mine. Jared takes a glance at me before taking my hand, squeezing in some reassurance.

"Thank you," I mouth to him gratefully and let go. I don't need to hide behind Jared every time a situation comes up.

Thomas joins us. His curls are a mess and he runs a hand through them. His smile is so wide, exposing his perfect teeth. "God, you are brilliant!" He suddenly grabs me into a hug and I freeze, my eyes wide. "This is why we are paired together!"

I sigh into his hug. My hands stretch out on his back, pressing him close to me. He feels so good. So warm. So solid. So...sexy.

A couple people cough deliberately and I spring apart from Thomas. Did I just lose it for a second? I step away from him and scratch at my head awkwardly. There is something seriously wrong with me. Thomas laughs like he's completely oblivious to what just happened.

"Thomas, mate, you were great. I think you would make a great actor in our movie," Louis says, clapping Thomas on the back.

"But what would he do? You're all the main cast," I interject. Honestly, I don't want Thomas being a major role. This is supposed to be One Direction's movie.

"He could play Harry. They have the same curls." Liam grabs locks of Harry and Thomas' hair, comparing curls.

"Harry plays Harry," I say.

"Well Thomas could be an acting coach then!" Jared suggests and I'm close to shooting him with a look of death. I didn't want to involve Thomas in this.

Thomas suddenly turns to me and smiles down at me. I bite the inside of my cheek secretly. "I don't want to do something Lilah doesn't want me doing," Thomas says directly to me.

It's like he reads my mind. My heart pounds in my ears. I can't say no to him now. Especially not in front of everyone.

I sigh and force a smile. "Acting coach will be perfect."

"Great! I can't wait," Thomas says. He turns with a last wave and walks across stage to where his friends are. I watch his retreating back.

Great. Just what I need really. Another distraction towards the making of One Direction's movie. We really have to get started on it.

~~~~~~~~
A couple hours later, the boys, Thomas, Jared, and I are at their rented apartment's kitchen. We invited Lena to tag along but she had been busily writing her term paper on the subject: hair products and the environment. She obviously denied the invitation in order to finish her paper. I personally wouldn't ever cancel on One Direction for something as unimportant as homework. One Direction is like life.
"When it says, 'Zayn jumps on Liam's back and chases Harry until he trips,' does that refer to Harry tripping or me?" Liam asks, placing the copy I made for him of the script down onto the table. His mouth is in a straight line, his brown eyes staring at me with complete seriousness.
"You," I answer simply. Liam has been asking questions on every single page so far. I've learn that it's much easier to just give him simple, straightforward answers.
"Alright." Liam nods and picks the script back up. The boys are all staring at him, waiting for his next question that we all know is coming together in his brain. It's only a matter of time. "I can feel you staring at me," Liam mutters under his breath. He puts the script down and looks at us all. "Well?"
"Don't you think it's simpler to just read it all and then make suggestions at the end?" Louis says to Liam.
"Well actually, I was thinking that if I make a comment on each page, then I'll be more likely to remember it all." He picks the script back up and resumes his analysis of each page.
"Hey Lilah, I was wondering if you planned to introduce the female lead role to us?" Harry asks, his voice hinting more than a little curiosity as to who the female would be.
"I actually don't have one. I was thinking maybe holding auditions for the open role and you can all try to figure out who works better," I explain. I honestly wish I could be the main girl, but I'm not about to just add myself into the movie.
The boys all exchange looks with eachother before looking at me simultaneously. "But why do we need auditions?" Harry asks.
"When we have a perfect actress right here?" Zayn adds.
"And, it says here that one of the boys, whoever falls in love with her, gets to have a kiss," Liam says, looking up from the script still in his hands. I feel my face heat up.
"I think we all agree that you're pretty enough," Zayn says and I almost physically choke on air. He did not just call me pretty...even with the "enough" tacked into the end.
Beside me Thomas shifts his weight closer to me. I try not to pay his leg brushing against mine too much attention.
"I still think auditions are the best choice," I lie. I have to play along to not seem so desperate.
"But-"
"Actually Lilah is right." Thomas suddenly says. "Auditions would provide the opportunity to find the perfect lead female. Lilah here," Thomas slings an arm around my shoulders and I try not to glare at him, "understands just how important it is to find the perfect actress. She wouldn't want the kiss to happen between the wrong people!" Thomas exclaims and I bite down on my tongue, secretly damning Thomas to hell. He's playing me for a fool. "Isn't that right Delilah?"
No. "Yes," I mutter.
"Just like I thought," Thomas says smugly and drops his arm. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I have some reading to do." He picks up the script and waves it. "Have a good day!" He chirps before leaving the room. I glare at his back the entire way out.
"Well it's settled then. Auditions tomorrow!" Liam says and gets up as well.
We all say our goodbyes and I keep my complaints to myself. Thomas may have won this round, but I will be the lead actress and I will get that kiss. Thomas has no idea who he's messing with.
