Chapter Twenty-Eight: Surprises
-Lilah's POV-
"...and then, in the middle of the night as he was sneaking around his house," Harry trails, his fingers wiggling in the air. "He heard the slight creak of wood down the hallway, the sound sending chills down his spine."
I have to admit that I'm getting a bit freaked out with the whole scary stories thing, but one look at Zayn makes me laugh. Zayn has his arms around his legs, holding himself in an upright fetal position beside me. He left the middle once Harry tried messing with him during his ghost story. Now he won't unwrap himself.
Harry continues his story. "As he walked, heading towards the creaking noise, he found himself sweating in fear. His heart racing in his chest, so quickly he felt close to puking. The sound of howling behind him gave him the urge to run away."
"What? Howling? Why is there always howling involved in scary movies?"
"Louis! You're ruining the entire dramatic effect," Harry groans.
"Okay. Okay, sorry."
"As I was saying. He found himself inching further down the hall, his hands shaking. He didn't like this place at all. He wanted to escape. The dark clawed at him and his fear fed the monster." Harry leans forward, crawling towards Zayn, his face lit up by his cellphone light. Zayn's entire body shakes with fear. "And slowly, the monster took him...and-"
The lights flash on and Zayn screams like a girl. Everyone bursts out laughing and they jump to their feet, pointing at the dark haired boy cowering on the floor.
"You should have seen your face!" Niall screams with laughter.
I don't want to join in laughing but even I know it's pretty damn funny. "Sorry, Zayn." I put my hand on his shoulder. "But it was hilarious."
Zayn gets to his feet and brushes the dirt away. "I hate the dark," he mutters.
The boys go off and do whatever it is they do together and I go back to my laptop. I've got some editing to do and not much time to do it in.
Fifteen minutes later the girls come back and Louis gathers us all up. He tells us about how great this entire week has been and how proud of us he is for all our hard work.
"Thank you, you may go," he says and my jaw drops open. That's it? Simple as that? An abrupt goodbye?
"What was the point of this week?" Lena asks from beside me. "We worked our asses off and it's just a sudden goodbye?" Wow, she sounds annoyed. I mean I am too, but I don't think I could wish for this week not to happen. I was working with One Direction!
One fucking Direction!
Oh god, my fangirl heart.
"No, it's not just a sudden goodbye. We have a show in LA on Tuesday. We've gotten you all two tickets for front row seats and backstage passes."
My heart sinks into my stomach and stays there. Front row and backstage passes. This is better than Christmas!
Working with them is one thing, but to be up close when they perform?! Talk about a fangirl's biggest dreams.
"So, thank you again for all your hard work. You will be in our movie and your names written in the cast. It's pretty good publicity if you think about it, and if a scout or something watches the movie, you might even become an actress. That's why we pushed you so hard," Harry explains to us and I literally gasp. They had this whole thing planned out, didn't they?
"Stick your tongue back in your mouth, Lilah," Niall teases me and I shut the open hole on my face. I just can't help it.
"So you're saying, that by just doing this whole Hell Week thing, that we can maybe become famous off of your movie?!" Kara asks, her voice full of excitement.
