Chapter One: Phone Call
**Lilah's POV**
"Ohmigod! Did you hear about Harry's new girlfriend?!" I say, throwing myself onto my bed and grabbing an Oreo.
It's a Thursday night and I'm in my dorm room with my two best friends discussing my favorite topic: One Direction.
"Shut up Lilah. Those pictures were totally fake," Jared, the most openly gay person I know, rolls his eyes and bites into another Oreo. "Besides, the only piece of meat that boy is going to get is me," he beams his signature whitened smile before tossing in the remains of his Oreo.
"Could you two possibly tone it down just a bit? Some of us take real classes," Lena scowls at us both before turning back towards her homework. She's sitting at her desk writing furiously on a piece of lined paper.
"Oh shut up Lena! You know you'd join our conversation if you weren't stuck with Cave Man for English!" Jared chucks an Oreo across the room, hitting Lena squarely in the back of the head. We both burst out laughing as she spins in her chair and grabs the cookie off the ground, throwing it back at Jared.
"It's not my fault I take classes that challenge me. Unlike some people," she says before turning back towards her papers. "Besides, everyone knows Harry is single and waiting for me."
"Oh shut up! Lena you can't have him! I already called dibs!" Jared pouts dramatically and faints on the bed, landing across my legs.
"Hey idiot! Get off!" I grunt at him and attempt to push him off. Even for someone as thin as Jared he was in no way moving from my attempts.
Jared stares up at me and crinkles his nose. "Gross Lilah. You should clean your nose before you let people look up it."
I gasp and smack his arm. "Jared! Shut up!"
"Could you two PLEASE think of another phrase besides 'shut up'?!" Lena says annoyed.
Usually she isn't as mean as tonight but she probably has something important due tomorrow. She always gets so worked up the night before a huge test or assignment. Lena is the smartest girl I know. She takes all these advanced classes just to challenge herself. I honestly don't know how she does it. I can hardly multiply five times eighteen without the use of a calculator. Of course, having Lena as your best friend does have it's upsides.
The loud rattle of my phone vibrating on the small nightstand beside my bed has Jared jumping out his skin. "Wimp," I tease him.
"Oh shut up Lilah. Your phone is a demon I'm telling you."
"Jared that's ridiculous," Lena sighs from the desk, shaking her head.
Jared just rolls his eyes before sitting up, allowing me to crawl over to grab my phone.
@NiallOfficial Hitting the sheets! Night guys! Love ya.
I squeal and rapidly type back a reply. "Ooooo what'd they say?!" Jared scoots closer to me and peeks over my shoulder. "Oh Niall's so cute. I might have to marry him instead of Harry."
"Oh shut up-"
"Ahem," Lena coughs and I glance over at her.
I sigh. "Sorry Lena," I turn back towards Jared and bump him with my shoulder. "You've changed who you're going to marry three times in this past week!"
Jared sighs dreamily and falls back into the bed. "That's because they're all so perfect!" He beams at the ceiling and pats the space beside him. I lay down and stare up at my ceiling as well.
