It was yet another boring day for Naruto. There was peace all right, after the 4th Great War had ended but ever since then, there had been very less crimes and rouge shinobis going wild. And with lesser crimes came lesser missions, meaning, boredom for Naruto.

But a great mind like Naruto getting bored doing nothing? Not a chance!

"All right then! I'll just have to pay Gaara a visit!!" Naruto yelled out loud, momentarily forgetting that he was in the Ichiraku Ramen stall, along with Sakura and Sasuke.

An irk mark appeared in Sakura's forehead, as he gave a strong hit to the back of Naruto's head, "You idiot Naruto! Did you even hear what I was saying!?"

"Uh...hehe, Sakura, sorry I guess I spaced out..." Naruto apologized, smiling.

"Pay attention next time! After all, it's rare for Sasuke to join us for Ramen." Sakura explained, becoming a mother figure. "So, what were you saying about Gaara?"

Well, she was curious, after all.

Hearing Gaara's name cheered Naruto up immediately, as he made his excited puppy face and grinned at Sakura, "He is awesome, isn't he?"

Sasuke, who was listening to their conversation all along, felt a sudden tightness in his chest, when he looked at Naruto's excited face. 'What's so special about that red hair anyway?' he thought.

"Yeah. I guess he is. What about him?" Sakura asked, confused at why Naruto would mention Gaara all of a sudden.

"I miss him, ya know. So maybe, I should give him a visit." Naruto wondered if that was even a good idea, "Hey, I know! Why don't you guys come along!? It'll be fun!! And besides, Sasuke, you'll actually get a chance to know him! Say, say!! Let's go

With all the excitement Naruto carried, it was hard for Sakura to reject it. Over the years of chasing after Sasuke to bring him back, Sakura and Naruto had become amazing friends and so Sakura immediately agreed to the idea. "Well, since we don't have any current missions, maybe we can arrange a visit." She thoughtfully considered.

But Sasuke had been quiet all this time. Sure, he had already heard that over the years, Naruto and Gaara of the Sand had gotten pretty close, but how close exactly? Were they close as 'just friends' or has he taken the spot for being Naruto's 'best friend'? Somehow, Sasuke didn't feel that good about that. But he chose to ignore the feeling.

"Sasuke, what about you then...? You coming, right?" Sasuke didn't even realize when Naruto had gotten that closer to his face. He could clearly see those blue eyes that shined brighter than the ocean itself and he couldn't have admired them less. But right now, this idiot was expressing so much excitement for meeting someone who wasn't even a citizen of Konoha.

"I don't see what the big deal is. He's just another shinobi from one of the villages who fought alongside us in the war. Why are you so eager to meet him anyway?" Sasuke stated plainly, without showing any emotions.

'What's so good about that redhead, huh? How close are you two!?'

That disappointed Naruto a bit, but he grabbed both of Sasuke's shoulders and stared directly into his eyes, "You say that because you don't know him! He's felt the same pain as me, from the very beginning... he's amazing and super awesome and he's really good, ya know! Maybe you guys can be friends too!"

"Heh! I don't make friends with weaker people."

Wrong. That's not what Sasuke actually wanted to say. He wanted to get to know Naruto better, so obviously he wanted to learn more about his friends and those bonds he talked about. But then why was it hurting? Why did Sasuke couldn't bear the though of Naruto getting closer to someone else. Closer than he was to him.
