Drunk Confession

Naruto's apartment

"Hehe... Sasuke's finally back ~" Naruto giggled as he attacked Sasuke with one of his bear-hugs, his face red with all the alcohol he'd chugged in the last few hours. "He's homeeee ~"

"Oi usuratonkachi, get off..." Sasuke blushed like crazy watching the 'possibly' unintentional actions Naruto was engaging with, like hugging Sasuke close, rubbing his cheeks on his chest, taking in an overly cute voice and acting like a kid who had got his candy back. It was definitely the alcohol's doing, but Sasuke didn't like the idea of a drunk Naruto. He felt nervous.

Although he had no idea why he would feel nervous but he just did. 'Naruto never gets embarrassed while he says embarrassing stuff like – I'll die with you Sasuke, Come home to me, Sasuke, etc. But now that he's drunk, who know what embarrassing stuff he might pull off.' Sasuke reasoned as he tried to get Naruto to stop drinking, trying to get him to stop hugging him simultaneously. "That's enough, Naruto. No more sake!"

"W-Whaaaaaaaaaa? But whyyyy....? Just one moreeeee Sasukeeeee ~" Naruto whined, but when he took Sasuke's name, he made it sound even more affectionate and loving.

Sasuke blushed yet again, why was Naruto calling him like that? Did the alcohol finally drive him crazy!?

How did things even turn out this way!? Sasuke wondered.

Morning

"Hey Sasuke! So, you've finally done all those missions you were supposed to do, right!?" Naruto asked, pretty loudly.

"Huh?" Sasuke raised an eyebrow at his friend.

"Well, you know, to pay for all the crimes you did. The missions that you were supposed to do to pay for your crime and prove to everyone that you're still faithful to Konoha and just like me, a war hero! You've been gone for so long!! Are you finally coming back!?"

"Well, I did cause a lot of trouble for everyone. So, I'm not sure if the villagers would forgive me that easily..." Sasuke hesitated, remembering all the times he had wanted to destroy Konoha.

"But you saved everyone during the war! Without you, we wouldn't have been able to break the dream-jutsu! You're a saviour!" Naruto kinda yelled that part out loud, getting all the people around to look at the two of them.

And it seemed like that. No one was giving Sasuke was the side-eye. Sasuke, who had been doing solo missions, away from the village, for more than a year now, had been forgiven already by the majority of Konoha's citizens. The people whose attention Naruto had pulled towards them were also acknowledging the fact that Sasuke was also a shinobi of the leaf; which made Sasuke elated.

Though he would never show these emotions, but it wasn't a lie that he wasn't happy with everyone accepting him again.

"Even if I am. Kakashi might send me off to another one."

"Whaaaaa.... Whyyyyy... I miss you so much Sasuke... just stay." Naruto whined, puppy-eyed.

And Sasuke gulped. That face was definitely a crime. And what's with those corny words, he thought as a slight blush rose to his cheeks. "Idiot."

"I'm serious though." And all of a sudden, Naruto spoke in a serious tone. "You're rarely in the village, I don't even see you that often. The thought of you going away once again feels... it feels so unbearable you know. I'm afraid that all this... that you being home and all, you and I being friends again... this totally feels like a dream to me, you know. And I'm constantly afraid that I'm going to wake up someday and you'll be gone. I just..."
