Mikayla's POV:

I was so excited! I got accepted into Hogwarts! I ran downstairs to tell my mom the news. "MOM!! Guess what?" I yelled. My mom was in the kitchen cooking dinner and my dad was reading a newspaper. "What, honey?" She asked while mixing. "I got accepted into Hogwarts!" I exclaimed excitedly. Mom immediately stopped mixing and dad looked at me strangely and took off his reading glasses. "You what?" Mom asked concerned. "You heard me! I got accepted into Hogwarts!" I repeated a little frustrated. Dad got up and started whispering to mom. I stared at them nervously. What if they wouldn't let me go? All I could see were nods of mom's head and shakes of dad's head. Finally, dad broke the silence, "Honey, can I talk to you?"

I followed dad into his room. Inside his room was a wooden desk, a grand dresser, a big master's bed, a fluffy carpet, two lamps and two brown drawers, and crimson walls. I really wished that this was my room. It was big and beautiful, unlike my small room. We sat on the edge of the bed. "I have to tell you something." Dad said. He had a nervous look on his face. "I know, why else would you bring me in a room and lock the door?" I said impatiently waiting for dad to say something. "Look, about Hogwarts." He started. I interrupted. "WHAT? You aren't letting me go? That's so unfair!" I shouted. The neighbors may have heard me scream, I was so loud. "Honey, I never said anything. I am going to let you go." My dad agreed. I pulled my dad into a huge hug. "Really? Thank you!" I happily said. Dad continued. "But, let me tell you about my brother, your uncle John." "What about Uncle John?" I questioned. "He wasn't an ordinary man, like I've mentioned. He is actually, a-a wizard..." My dad stuttered, "He actually went to Hogwarts in fact, but even though he is a wizard, I am not, nor is your mother. My parents weren't wizards either." He explained. "But, then how-" I said shocked. "I don't know, but I was always jealous of him when I was younger. But, not anymore. I want you to go do great things like he did. That's why I am letting you go." He explained further. "You mean you never told me? But, why? Why?" I asked angrily. "Your mother and I wanted to keep it a secret." He said. "Ok, I guess... But, I can't wait to go to Hogwarts!!" I exclaimed. I went back to my room and wrote a letter back to Hogwarts.

I then ran downstairs to have dinner. Everything was good. Everything was clear. Everything was perfect.
