12- Notes

I was in the kitchen making some cookies, when all of a sudden, I heard a knock at the window. I quickly turned around and saw a raven at the window carrying a note. I quietly tip-toed to the window. If my parents saw a raven at their window, they would freak out. I opened the window and brought the raven in. I then saw the note and took it. "Hmm... what do you have for me?" I asked. I opened the note and saw 3 letters from all 3 of my friends. "Why are they sending letters?" I questioned. I read the first letter.

GUYS.

IT'S EMMA.

MILLY, MIKAYLA, AND CAITLYN:

MY MOM SAID NO TO A HOGWARTS LETTER. I SWEAR ON THE RIVER STYX I'M NOT MAKING THIS UP. MY PHONE IS GONE. HELP. PLEASE.

PASS IT ON TO EACH OTHER. THE RAVEN'S NAME IS MINT.

"Oh, no!" I yelled back in my room. "If she can't go to Hogwarts, then what will we do!!" I then saw the next letter and read it.

We need to convince her mom!! Try to get your parents to come, and at 5:45 let's meet at Emma's house.-

I glanced at the clock. It was already 4:45! I had to be there in 1 hour! I still had to get ready! I saw one more note and read it quickly.

Start trying to practice your magic to see if you have any before you have a wand. Try and get our parents to believe us and let us go. We won't get punished because we can't control our magic yet. Emma, say that the date for our back to school barbecue was today, it's always at your house so no excuses made. Tell that to all of your parents. I will text/email to remind.

How was I supposed to practice my magic if I didn't know any spells yet? "I wonder if I could try some spells from Harry Potter." I wondered. "Wait, no. It won't work. I need a wand! Ugh!" I walked over to Mint and fed her some sunflower seeds that I found in her satchel. "Thank you Mint! You can now go back to Emma Sewell. Thank you!" I said. I reattached her satchel and off she went. Now to convince my parents to take me.

I saw mom and dad in the office looking at new bathroom appliances. "What about this? It includes aromatherapy!" My mom said enthusiastically. "No! Did you even see the price!" My dad argued. I walked in, "Hey, mom and dad. I was wondering if you could take me to Emma's house. Caitlyn and Milly are also going?" I said really hoping that they would take me. My mom and dad looked at me confused. "And what does Emma's mom think about this?" My mom wondered. "She thinks it is fine! In fact the back to school barbecue is today anyways and it is always at her house." I pleaded. "Umm.. I didn't get an email. She usually sends one." My mom protested. "Well, that's because their phone broke down and their computer..." I said crossing my fingers behind my back. "Anyways, Caitlyn and Milly are going!" I debated. "Ok, fine. You did all of your chores and made us cookies." My dad agreed. "Yay! Thanks dad! And you do believe I am a wizard right?" I asked. "Yes, why?" He wanted to know. "Just because!" I said running back to my room. The time was now 5:00. I had to hurry! I put on my blue and white flower skater skirt, my white blouse, and my jean jacket. I also put on my white sandals. As a finishing touch, a floral headband and a floral bracelet. I ran downstairs. It was now 5:25. "Come on, dad! We have to go!" I yelled running out to the car. My dad came out along with my mom and we were off. We were going to knock some sense into Emma's parents and get her to Hogwarts! At least, I hope!
