Chapter 10

It was a shallow few months in the hospital. Relationships being crushed, damaged, none being killed. You stare at the doctor as he tells you the news that you will be released today. Everyone else is waiting and happy to see you, but you've been thinking, how you merged into this life so quickly, how it felt right. And maybe, just maybe, if you keep going, it'll somehow turn out right for yourself.

As you're wheeled into Tails' house, an uproar of applause reaches you, everyone is there celebrating your recovery. However, you are still too frail to walk, and must be in a wheelchair or bedridden. You give a weak smile with your darkened eyelids, hugging and kissing Tails when he approaches you.

"I thought you would be in there for another few days at most.." He said, tears welling up in his eyes. "We were all so worried for you, you-"
You caressed his face, comforting him as he buries his furry face into your shoulder, sobbing. "There there, I'm fine, you see?" You say, sighing softly. "I only wonder why I could adjust so quickly here. I already ended my lease in my apartment, and I moved all my things here.."

Suddenly, you see Sonic in the corner, he has his head down, his eyes shallow with a hushed virescence.

"He never got over how he hurt you, Y/N." Tails says, looking over at him. "I got over it quickly, I can't find him saying anything to anyone anymore." He looks back to you. "I wouldn't think too much of him, though. Today's about you, and he bounces back quickly... usually."

Sticks walks up to you, handing you a box of chocolates. "It's good to see ya back, Y/N." She says with a hearty smile. "Sorry for doubtin' ya all this time, I can see you're quite good at this stuff."

However, you can't stop looking at Sonic throughout this time, his crestfallen and serious face are halfway burned into your retinas. You feel bad, you can't understand how the supposed cheerful one could get so... monotonous.

"Have you ever thought maybe you should talk to him?" You say, looking at Tails. "I've tried, he just brushes us off." Tails says, then starting to inappropriately chuckle. "Why? Why are you so focused on him, he's fine." You then notice it. Tails has a deep lengthwise scar on his arm, caused by s scratch or slash.

"How did you get that scar, Tails?" You say, looking at him. "I told you, this day is about you." Tails says, a hint of panic in his eyes.

"Tails, if Sonic did this to you, then-" You are cut off by a yell by Tails. "It wasn't his fault!" He says, now almost sobbing. You're appaled. Everyone is now staring at the fox, and he runs out of the room. Sonic follows along suit, a concerned tone in his voice. "Tails, don't do anything bad." He says, closing the foor behind him.

That isn't like him, like them, he isn't himself, and you're scared. Did Sonic do something to him or was this a matter of himself? You slightly hyperventilate as Amy walks up to you.

"Listen, it's best I don't talk to you about this, but Tails isn't in the best place right now." She says as you look up toward her. "Did Sonic do that? Or-" Any cuts you off. "I don't know, okay? But I am just as concerned as you are." She looks as if she's about to sigh, but Sonic bursts through the door. "Fucking child, he is." He says, then plopping down onto a chair.

You look at Sonic, and bring yourself to him. "What did you do?" You say, and he looks st you disinterested. You raise your hand and start slapping him. "WHAT DID YOU DO?" You scream, he grabs your hands and looks at you. "Calm down, I didn't do any!-" You spit in his face to stop him, and Amy walks behind you and restrains your arms. "Y/N, calm down! You don't need to hit him!" She says in a panicked voice. "I don't fucking need this!" You say as you wheel yourself out of the room, toward the dock where Tails and You confessed your love.

Whatever is happening here, someone is getting abused, or someone is hurting themself.

~~Sorry for the hiatus everyone, but because it's summer I'll be able to post more often. I thought I would start bringing this story to a more dramatic level before concluding.
