CHAPTER 9

Bleeding

I wake up in the middle of the night to this ache in my lower stomach. Malik was sleeping on his stomach his head turned to face me and his arm draped over me. I move his arm slowly getting out of bed and heading to the toilet.

I pull down my pants and gasp when I see blood in my pants my heart sinks to the bottom and my eyes water. "no, no, no." i cry out my heart breaking I collapse against the wall as I start to cry. "babe." i hear Malik deeps half asleep voice. The door opens and Malik walks in with only boxers on and his eyes squinted adjusting to the light.

"koko wassup."
"im bleeding mal" I barely strangle out before crying harder. "where baby." he says worry in his voice. "i found blood in my panties."
"fuck" he mutters. "I'm scared mal." i cry to the point I'm hiccuping. He comes to me sitting next to me and pulling me into his chest and he rubs my back as I sob not saying anything. I know he's scared too worried as well but he always has the persona that he has to be strong for me.

"we'll go see doctor brenan tomorrow." his voice break a little. He lifts my head up wiping my tears from my face but they continue to fall. He kisses me hard and when we pull away a tear rolls down his face but he quickly wipes it and stands up so I stand with him.

I step out of my bloodied underwear as I sniffle Malik leans against the door as I wash as much blood of them as I can and place them in the laundry basket.

Malik hands me a pair of clean underwear and I barely glance at him before mumbling a thank you and. Sliding up halfway. I place a pad in just Incase I bleed anymore before pulling them all the way up.

I wash my hands before walking back into the room. I lay down next to Malik but I turn away from him. "don't ignore me Aiko." he says softly as he turns me around slowly so I can pull him away if I wanted to but I don't.

"i just so embarrassed." i cry more covering my face with both my hands. He kisses my hands. "don't be baby this is not your fault at all and you have absolutely nothing to be embarrassed about  we'll get you checked out first thing tomorrow OK it might not be what we think it is." he moves my hands from my face interlocking them.

He pulls me into him resting his chin on my shoulder.

We were able to get an appointment for 3pm not as fast as we hoped but atleast if was today in scared shirtless because I've been spotting on a pad since I found the blood in my underwear. Like I did 5 weeks ago I wear something with easy access to my Stomach
Im 17 weeks pregnant and I have a cute bump which is much bigger than it was with Blake which I hope is a good sign but the bleeding is worrying me.

Malik got us there pretty quickly because we were running a bit late. I'm laying on the bed and Malik is holding my head he walks in with a smile. "good afternoon how can I help you with Aiko." i smile back at him swallowing the lump in my throat.

"um I woke up last night and I was bleeding quite a bit and I've been spotting all morning so I just want to know if I haven't miscarriage." his smile fades and he just nod. He talks me through some stuff that I don't listen to I know he's only talking to calm me down but how can you calm down when you could be finding out that you may potentially lose a baby.

Dr brenan starts searching for a heart beat or a sign of a fetus and after five minutes my hope is dinning and heart break is setting in. Just as a tear slips out of my eye doctor brenan moves this control extremely low to the point it's pushing on my underwear and that's when a steady heart beat is heard and the image of my baby shows.

They finally look like a baby and not a dot. "your baby boy is completely healthy and the bleeding is most likely cervix growth which can cause bleeding." My heart sinks as I turn to Malik who eyes were wide with joy as our baby's gender is spontaneously announced.

"were having a boy." he asks like he doesnt believe it. Doctor brenan looks at us confused. "you didn't know? Oh god im so sorry I though you knew seeing as you normally get it at your 4 months scan."

I smile reaching my hand out for Malik which he happily takes. "it's ok doc this may be the best day of the year knowing my baby is still healthy and that he's a healthy boy."

He nods with a smile as he wipe of the gel from my stomach and I get or the chair grabbing my stuff. "well I'm so sorry again Aiko for announcing it."

I wave him off telling him to forget about it before taking maliks hand and walking out.
