Lies

"YOU WHAT?" He screamed.

My head jerked away from my phone; does he have to react like that?

"Let me finish!"

"Okay, okay." He sighed.

"His parents love me! And they're super nice too. We cooked dinner and had a great time; his sister is nice too." I spoke. Somewhat in disbelief of what I'm admitting.

"Oh man, you're warming up to his family. I mean that's cool and all, but do they know that you guys are..." he trailed off.

"Uh, about that... yeah they do. Maru came in like a bat out of hell and accidentally let it slip." I slightly frowned remembering it.

"Alex, you can't just keep doing this, you don't like him! And now everyone knows, his friends, your friends, his family!" I didn't want to admit it, but he was right.

"Yeah, I know, Sam." I sighed, "But Sebastain doesn't like me either!"

I heard Sam laugh on the other end, of course he wouldn't believe it. Sebastain has been deep into this lie for months. It's about time his friends know about it, or at least Sam should know.

"Yeah, yeah, laugh all you want. It's true, he admitted it to me. He's been lying to everyone. This was all to cover up the fact that he likes Abigail." Once I said that he stopped laughing.

"There's no way he'd lie to me about something like that."

"There's a way." I scoffed.

"How could he not tell me? Does he not trust me?" He sounded hurt.

"I don't think it's that... I don't know. We should probably ask him about it." I say, arriving to my house.

"If that's true then we need to have a serious conversation about that. Friends don't lie to each other." He sounded even more hurt than before.

Sebastian... why would you lie about this? All you're doing is hurting people, your friends. The people closest to you. Do you not trust them, or is it something else?

I say goodnight to Sam and open the door to my house with my key, its 12 by now so of course it was locked. I walk into my house and enter my room silently, 1 is my curfew so I'm glad I came home on time. Or else... I mightve gotten grounded. A 17 year old getting grounded sounds ridiculous. Mostly because it is.

I lay on my bed and stare at the ceiling, I need to brush my teeth... but I'm so tired. The voice in the back of my head nags me until I finally decide to get up and brush my teeth. Friggin hate doing hygiene stuff, it just wastes my time. But I still do it, don't get me wrong. I'm not gross.

I go back to my room and change, finally being able to rest peacefully. That was, until the morning came.

"Oh my, Alex, why didn't you tell us you had such a good friend?" My grandmother asked, laughing along with Sebastain.

That prick... I just woke up and I have to be met with this?! Him acting all prince charming with my grandparents! He's even sitting down at the table with them.

"You flatter me, really." He says to my grandma, flashing me a glare.

"Oh, Sebby, what are you doing here?" I ask, seeing him flinch from the nickname. Yeah thats right, I didn't forget about it, asshole.

He cleared his throat and began to speak, "just here to see you, jock." I cringed.

"But we aren't friends, grandma..." I say, looking over at Sebastain angrily.

"Oh? You want to drop the bomb so soon do you, Alex?" He replies back. "Guess I'll tell them, then."

"Hmm?" My grandmother hums in question.

"Dont listen to him, grandma." I hiss.

I put my hand on the table and look him in his eyes, he took my seat, too! He probably isn't aware but it still ticks me off. And it ticks me off even more how he's looking at me with his dark, unreadable eyes yet again.

I pull up a chair and sit down next to Sebastain, to make sure he doesn't do anything stupid. Hardly likely he won't.

"So Alex, we were just talking about how you're both about to graduate." My grandpa says, stirring his drink.

"Ah, yeah, guess we are." I say back.

To be honest, with everything going on I haven't really been thinking about school that much. But now I realize I should start working on schoolwork and the like. And... I'm going to be seeing this douche at school too. We have some classes together, just my luck.

I turned to Sebastain, "why are you here? How do you know where my house is?" I whispered.

"I'm here because you wanted me to be. And I found your house because of the help wanted board, you requested something." He snickered.

What does he mean I wanted him to be here? I never sai- oh wait. I said see you tomorrow to get on his nerves, me and my big mouth! And of course I had to post something once.

"I didn't say exactly that I wanted you he-"

"Now what are y'all whispering about?" My grandpa said.

"Nothing!" We both reply. I hate how we said the same thing, he's infecting my mind.

"Jinx." He smiled.

Yeah yeah whatever, poke me if you want! He reached his hand over to me and jabbed me in the stomach.

"OW! That was not a freaking poke!" I nearly shouted.

He began to laugh hysterically. Taking enjoyment out of my pain, huh? Well, let's see how you like it! I quickly reached my hand out to jab him but he evaded it.

"Stay... still!" I demanded.

"No way." He chuckled.

I heard my grandparents laugh at my failed attempts, shouldn't I at least be able to get him back?! Im supposed to be an athlete gosh darn it! After a few more failed attempts I stopped trying. Stupid evader, evading every attack I try.

He laughed a bit more, "this is just sad. I'll let you get a freebie."
