~Nyma Tang as Kyra ~I don't know who use for Niko and everyone else yet! ~I took this story down and decided to add it back into this book.
———————————————————————-
Kyra Mason was the love of his life. She stood 6 ft tall like a super-model, but had curves so out-of-this world that they'd never allow her on anybody's runway. Full lips. Rich chocolate skin. White teeth. Deep dimples. She was one of a kind. She was the girl of his dreams. She was the girl in his dreams.
His eyes followed her as she made her way into the kitchen and spoke to a group of people. Those people being his cousins. He admired her hips and ass outlining her Fashion Nova jeans. And he loved the way her jet black curls framed her oval shaped face.
The music was loud. Everyone had alcohol in their system. Happiness was in the air—atleast for them. Everyone's bodies were swaying to the rnb music, laughing loudly, being merry, not having the care in the world. All the while he was standing there, beer in hand, in a corner, ignoring everybody and zoning in on her. She was the only one who existed, right now, in his world.
She was the girl that he dreamed. In his mind, he was hers and she was his'
But in reality...
She was his brother's.
And this was their engagement party.
They were getting married.
He tried to act happy for them, but each day it got more difficult to fake the funk. He felt his brother didn't deserve her and he couldn't understand why she stayed with him for so long, especially after all he's put her through.
"He's changed", she told him. All Niko could do at that point was shake his head.
Niko didn't hate his brother—Dondre—but he hated how he always manage to take the things that he cared about most and how everyone, especially his family, constantly placed him on this high powerful pedestal. He was the star of their world..and Niko hated it. He especially hated it when his father made comparisons between the two, always favoring his brother over him. Niko remembered how much his father would make him feel like shit just because he didn't share their interests.
"You're brother is on the football team and is the best athlete they've ever had on that field" his father said to him one night in the kitchen as they were having dinner. They were in highschool, and Dondré was one of the top players the school has ever had, basically carrying the team on his back—-being responsible for several wins they've had against other schools. They had great players on the field, as the school was known for their athletic talent, but Dondre was on a whole other level.
"Shit like that just don't interest me pop." Niko responded, hoping that his father wouldn't continue the conversation.
His mother cleared her throat. "Niko wants to enroll in culinary school one day. You see how he throws down in that kitchen. He gets it from his mama. Hell he cook better than me to be honest." She beamed with pride as she dug into the home-made mashed potatoes that he created.
