Chapter 23

"Happy Anniversary Love!" It was really a surprise when she prepared a dinner for us at my condo unit. May candles, flowers at may music pa. Pinauwi kaagad kami pagkatapos ng huling sched namin kanina. Sabi ng manager ko, nauna na raw 'yong iba. Iyon pala ako lang 'yong pinauwi.

She hugged my waist and I kissed her lips in return. Mukhang formal dinner pero naka-casual attire kami. Nakasuot siya ng jumper pants tsaka sneakers lang. Ako nga pantalon lang tsaka t-shirt. "Thank you, love. I love you." I whispered to her.

She gifted me a customized vinyl disc. It contains my personal favorites and the music we shared together and recommended for each other. She started to like ballad and old songs because of me. I like how she always supports me in everything... including the little things. It means a lot for me.

By all means, I'm learning that being in a relationship isn't always about rainbows and butterflies. May mga panahon ding nagkakaroon kami ng misunderstanding ni Cassi. I was usually the one who would cause a quarrel.

We were both patient with each other... siguro mas mahaba lang 'yong pasensya ni Cassi kaysa sa'kin. Kapag masama ang loob ko sa kaniya, hindi ko siya kinakausap o kaya'y hindi ako magre-reply sa mga texts at tawag niya. Siya kadalasan ang unang nakikipagbati.

She's the more understanding one between us. Ngunit sa abot ng makakaya ko, iniintindi ko naman siya. But she was too affectionate when it comes to me. She will always be the one who would choose to step back. She knew I am sometimes irrational in deciding things.

When it comes to relationships, she knows more. Dahil na rin siguro sa mga napagdaanan niya. I am thankful that we never fought a nasty fight. I would always remind her na lahat ay madadaan sa usapan. Kaya sinasabi namin kaagad sa isa't isa kung may problema, malaki o maliit man 'yon na bagay.

"Ano ba, h'wag kang malikot!" Hinawi ni Cassi ang kamay ko tsaka siya lumuhod sa may couch sa tabi ko. She was tying my hair in a ponytail. A short man bun... more like a baby bun. "'Yan! Ang astig mo!"

It wasn't cool though. Mukha akong tanga. My arms were crossed over my chest, bored ang hitsura at hinahayaan lang si Cassi na paglaruan ang buhok ko.

"Happy now?" I asked in a lazy tone. She giggled more. Napangiti na lang ako at hinawakan ang palapulsuhan niya para hatakin siya. She hugged me from the side and leaned her head on my shoulder.

"Sorry, hindi ko napanood ang launch niyo kanina. Masyadong maraming load ngayon." Malumanay niyang saad. "Sayang talaga! Kabilang studio lang 'yon, e."

"You have no idea how much I am thankful for always being there, Sid." Marahan kong piniga ang kamay niya.

"Well.. I want you also to know na kahit wala ako minsan, I am proud of you love. Always." My free hand reached her face.

I let my eyes ran through her. She was still smiling, feeling bad 'cause she missed to watch our event. Without any thoughts, I planted a chaste kiss on her forehead. Lalong humigpit ang hawak niya sa akin at napatingala. Ramdam ko ang kagustuhan ng puso kong kumawala dahil sa mga tingin niya. I angled my face and kissed her lips. She was taking my breathe away by showering me her affectionate kisses.

On that moment, I was even more molded of my choice of risking everything for this person. I didn't regret any of the choices that led me to her. Sa akin lang siya at sa kaniya lang ako. Walang makakapagpabago noon.

It was our a long-time plan to watch the Northern lights so we carefully set the date for that. I really spared time for our anniversary celebration. We decided to go on a camping van. Mas maganda ang lights kung sa mountains kasi. It was already passed the exact date of our anniversary but that was the nearest season which aurora borealis is expected to appear.
