The days turned into weeks, into months, a bittersweet blur as Peony's condition continued to fluctuate. Matsu, Calie, and Marie remained by her side, their hearts heavy with the knowledge that their time together was running out. The hospital staff did their best to provide comfort and support, but the inevitable truth was that Peony's body was growing weaker. Peony looked up at him with a weak smile, her eyes reflecting the deep connection they shared. "I love you too, Papa." Calie and Marie joined them, their expressions somber yet filled with tenderness. "We're here for you, Peony," Calie said softly, her voice catching in her throat. Marie nodded, her eyes shining with unshed tears. "We're going to cherish every moment we have together."

The following day, Matsu made a decision. He knew that things would not get better, so Peony's last days should be spent in the comfort of their home, surrounded by the love and familiarity of their family. With the doctor's approval, he brought Peony back to their house, where they had shared so many precious moments together. As they settled into their home, Peony's room became a haven of love and care. Matsu, Calie, and Marie took turns sitting by her side, holding her hand, sharing stories, and simply being present. "We're so lucky to have you in our family," Calie said, her voice soft. Peony's gaze shifted between each of them, her eyes filled with love. "I'm lucky too. I have the best family in the whole world." As the days passed, Peony's breathing grew shallower, her body growing weaker with each passing moment. Yet, even in the face of death, her spirit remained strong. As the days passed, Peony's condition began to worsen, and her strength seemed to fade. The Kagayaki family was deeply worried, and Matsu, Marie, and Calie made it a point to spend every possible moment with her. "Mama Calie, Mama Marie, will I be okay?" Peony asked one evening, her voice barely a whisper. Marie and Calie exchanged a pained look before Marie gently replied, "We're doing everything we can, sweetie. We won't leave your side, and we'll make sure you get the best care possible." Peony nodded, but her eyes betrayed her fear. "I don't want to leave you all," she said softly, tears welling up in her eyes.

Matsu leaned in, wrapping his arms around Peony, trying to hold back his own tears. "You won't leave us, Peony. We'll fight this together, and we'll always be right here with you." Peony managed a weak smile, finding solace in the warmth of her family's embrace. "Promise?" she whispered.

"I promise, my beautiful flower" they all said in unison, their voices filled with love and determination. In the midst of their worries for Peony, Matsu, Marie, and Calie also found comfort in each other. They had grown closer as a family, facing life's challenges hand in hand.
