Riley drove back home. She didn't feel like going to work so she called in sick and just drove back to the mansion to change clothes and maybe even hit the gym since she had nothing else to do. Max was at work and although Layla was on leave, Riley felt the need to be away from the woman before things got out of hand. Even if it was only for a few hours.
As she got out of her car and walked inside the house, she was approached by Mary who happened to be one of the maids she trusted most.
"Oh hey mama," Riley greeted, standing to wait for the older woman approaching her.
"Riley, you slept out last night and your father is around," Mary informed, causing a frown to show on Riley's face.
"Also, the girl has left for school already, Josh drove her there,"
"When did my father get here?"
"A few minutes ago. He asked after you and the girl and we had to tell him that you left to take the girl to school," Mary informed, smiling sweetly at the younger woman. Mary was approaching her 40s and had been working in the Brown's mansion for over 10years now. She saw Riley as her own daughter because of how the younger woman showed her great care and respect.
"Am I in any trouble?" Riley asked as they walked into the house, Riley reaching out to wrap her arm around Mary's shoulders.
"Well, not really," the woman said laughing. "You know I always cover up for you,"
"I know mama, thanks a lot," Riley grinned, giving the woman a small peck on her cheek.
Riley met her father in the lounge. They talked about work for a while before Riley retired to her room for the first time in days.
