3rd Person POV
The following day, y/n had plans to spend some time with Natty, Poppy and Samantha. It was always a completely different vibe when she hung out with that particular group of girlfriends, compared to her Slytherin girlfriends. Each one of them were from a different Hogwarts House. They were an unlikely group in that regard, but they shared many similar interests and passions, and they always had a great time together.
Y/n had slept in. Shit. As she hustled to get ready for the day, her mind was swimming with everything that had happened the night before. She couldn't wait to tell her friends over their planned picnic lunch. After a quick shower and teeth brushing, she slapped on some light makeup and threw on a tight white cropped t-shirt, with a pair of casual blue jeans and sneakers, popped a pair of sunglasses on her head, and bolted out the door. On her way out, she noticed the Slytherin Common Room was unusually quiet. Everyone else must have been having a sleep-in, too, y/n thought to herself.
When she arrived at their planned spot, on the banks of the Black Lake, the girls had already set up an array of colorful picnic blankets and throw rugs, floor cushions, and treats. Samantha had charmed some special goblets to make their wine look and smell just like pumpkin juice, in case any of the professors became suspicious.
"Y/n!" Poppy greeted her first with a hug. "We're dying to hear about your date with Garreth last night!"
"Yes, y/n what happened?" Natty asked, "He came back much earlier than anyone expected, most of us were still up in the Gryffindor Common Room! But he didn't say a word to anyone and took himself straight to bed."
"Good? Bad? Tell us!" Samantha chimed in.
"Merlin, where do I even begin?" y/n asked the girls.
"First of all," y/n corrected them, "In fact, it wasn't a date."
"Pfft keep telling yourself that, y/n!" Samantha scoffed. "All of the seniors, and even some of the professors for that matter, are talking about you two."
"Yes, and the Gryffindors have been wondering if this will cause a rift between Garreth and Leander, potentially affecting our Quidditch tryouts and first game," Natty added.
"Y/n, you must understand how gossip-inducing the events of this week were!" Poppy exclaimed. "Firstly you were all over Leander at the beginning of the week – he clearly likes you. Then your best friend Sebastian returns, looking like that... all of the girls at school are swooning, and wondering if you are too. Then at school the next day, with no explanation you punch Garreth in the face, who is supposed to be your good friend. Then you ignored them all this week until Friday, when you happily skipped off into the sunset with Garreth for what appeared to be a date in Hogsmeade!"
Y/n hadn't talked much to anyone all week during class, she had stuck close with just Ominis. Sebastian had been around too, but y/n guessed that the optics were that she was just with Ominis. Sebastian had been fairly busy catching up with his other friends in classes. Apart from her dorm mates, she hadn't told the rest of her friends the full story about Leander and Garreth.
To their shock, she told them about Leander and the Amortentia he slipped her, that had been brewed by Garreth. She told them how she dealt with them both, and the aftermath of the punch. She showed them the letter Garreth had sent her by owl, causing fits of giggles among them. She continued on to share details of her evening with Garreth, the poem he read, and the almost-kiss before her Slytherin friends popped up.
"Wait wait wait... so you and Garreth almost finally make out, and then right at that moment, Sebastian and his friends crash your date and cock-block you?" Samantha mused.
