Dead Among Us

Chapter 2: The Next Day

It is bright sunny mildly hot day at school, and everyone hasn't even arrived yet except for me. I arrive before anyone else most of the time, mostly because I wake up pretty early so that I can get dressed, straighten my hair and prepare some breakfast. I am wearing my favorite white hoodie and my black skinny jeans. "That explosion in Atlanta must be pretty dramatic.", I said to myself. "Especially that infestation of rabies I heard on the radio while I was driving to school." My friend Danny just came with his guitar and portable amp. He was wearing one of his usual long sleeve shirts with one of his favorite bands on them that said "tool" and blue jeans with a chain on his side. His skin was dark mixed with white. "You gonna be rocking it out today bro.", I said. "Totally man, I'm gonna sing also when our group comes here.", Danny said happily.

"Did you hear what happened on the news in Atlanta mate." "Yes I did man, it sounds like heavy shit is going on over there what made you bring up the subject?", asked Danny while laughing softly. "Yeah, I just hope that it isn't that serious cause that was a lot of quarantine teams covering most of the city", I said with little worry. I then see my friend Anthony running to us with blood on his face and on his white T shirt that showed a picture of a well know video game. "Bloody Hell!? What the fuck happened to you mate", I said with great worry. "There are fucking cannibals Edward", Anthony said while trying to wipe the blood off his skin. "Cannibals!? Have you gone crazy dude?, screamed Danny. As me and Danny help Anthony get the blood off of his skin in the near by bathroom we hear what appears to be load moaning and growling. We each hide in one stall and stand on the toilet so that no one may see us. It is strange, something awful happens in one city and there is a growing feeling inside me that it will happen to another city just not the same disaster.

I step out of my stall quietly telling Danny and Anthony to stay put and not move. I look out of the bathroom and see a young woman. But she looked kind of strange. She was looking up at the sky. Her body wasn't facing me. She looked kind of crippled I would say, but that wasn't what was bothering me the most. She was growling very softly and moaning very intensely. At that moment, I saw a custodian walking normally past her, but she then lunged her self at him and began attacking him. "What the fuck!?", I said to myself quietly. I see blood everywhere, I hear agonizing screaming. She was torturing him. I run to get her off of him. "Hey, get the fuck off of him!", I said while trying to pull her off.

As she turned her head, her face looked......I can't even begin to describe what I was looking at. Not a human being but some sort of monster. Her eyes were extremely bloodshot like she had acid thrown in them and her pupils were dilated. She had human flesh between her teeth. She pounced on me. "GET OFF OF ME!", I screamed out. I was trying very hard to get the woman off of me. She kept trying to bite me while trying to press down on my hands and arms. She kept acting aggressively. Then I hear some one else coming.

BANG

Danny managed to hit the woman on the head of what appeared to be a metallic lid from the bathroom trash can. The woman laid there unconscious, and Danny gave me hand. "You alright bro.", Danny said while lifting me up. "Yeah, it's just that.....why would she attack me for after she was attacking that guy? OH SHIT!", I said while running to the hurt custodian. "Sir are you okay?" The custodian was gasping for air, his throat had been bitten off. He is now dead, lying there lifeless. "Dude what the fuck.", Anthony said. He had just saw the entire commotion. He was too traumatized already when he came to the school. Then something happened.

The woman is awake and preparing to attack again. "Shit bro she's getting back up!", I cried out. Danny rushes to her and hits her on the head again several times even when she dropped to the ground. I run to Danny. "Danny that's enough, she's dead, she's DEAD!", I yelled out as I'm holding back Danny. "I'm sorry, i j-just....didn't want you guys hurt.", Danny said while shaking. "It's okay mate.", I said. "AARRGGGH, GET OFF OF ME!", Anthony yelled out. The custodian was attacking him.
