Dead Among Us

Chapter 4: Inside the School

"That's strange. Dude turns into a dead one, but there is no bite mark?", Danny asks while examining the body. "Yeah, that is strange.", Anthony said. "Could this disease be airborne or some shit like that?" I stand up and look around for something that I can use as a weapon. "It could be but we don't know.", I said. "We need to gear up and lock up the school gates." Samantha stands up with Danny. Anthony takes another wooden chair and smashes it on the floor like how I did. He grabs two legs of the chair. He hands one to Danny. "We do know a thing or two about these things now.", I said. "Number one, they are not living, number two, they die instantly if you stab or destroy the brain, and Number three, some can run and some can walk. God knows what else they can do." I find the janitors broom that has a metal end at the point where the stick meets the brush. I break the two apart to create a sort of staff. "Here Samantha, you can use that to push the dead ones away.", I said while handing her the staff. "
She takes it.

"Thanks Edward.", She said. "Come on let's go, we need to lock up the school gates from every entrance, including where the buses go to drop off kids.", I said. We all run to the court yard of the school. When we arrive we see three dead ones. "Oh shit.", Anthony said. "Remember aim for the head, and destroy it to kill them.", I said. "Don't hesitate." Danny runs up to one of them and stabs it in the head. He pulls out his chair leg from the corpse. One of them is a runner, so I trick them to chase me instead of the others. Anthony stabs the other one in the head but it doesn't work. "What the fuck!?", Anthony cried out. The dead one pounces on him, but Anthony is keeping it away from him by holding the dead one by it's shoulders. Samantha stabs it in the head with her mop/staff. The dead one lies officially dead on Anthony. "Are you okay?", Samantha asked. "Yeah I'm good.", he says. She gives him a hand and he stands up. Danny runs up to them and hugs Samantha. "Where's Ed at?", Danny asks. I run towards a fence and I jump over it while the runner hits the fence. "NOW DANNY! STAB HIM!", I shouted out. Danny runs up to the runner and stabs him with great force that it kills the runner instantly. Danny tries to take out the chair leg from the corpse's head but it is stuck.

"We did it mates.", I said. "Now come on, we got a school to protect. Also, when we lock them up, take the keys off of them. We'll need them, if we go out there. That way no one else takes this place." We all run to the parking lot at the north entrance of the school. "WALKER!", Anthony shouted out. The dead walker was moving slowly toward us, but we kept running. "I got this one guys.", Samantha said. She raises her staff and impales the walker in the head and takes it out. "BOOYAH!", She shouted out. We finally reached the gate door and we shut it then lock it up. As we took the keys from the lock we heard another dead one, but it was from a distance. We run the bus gate entrance and we spot two dead ones. Both are runners. "Oh shit. Fucking runners bro.", Danny said. The two dead ones run toward us. "Samantha hand me your stick.", I said. She hands it to me, as the two runners approach closer side by side. Then I hold the staff horizontally while running towards them and shouted. I was filled with huge amounts of adrenaline.

BAM!

The two runners are struck to the ground and I impale them both in the mid part of the head. "THAT WAS FUCKING CRAZY!", Anthony shouted out. I laughed for a moment and reach the bus gate entrance. I close it and lock it up, but there was no key. The rest of the group runs to me. "Mate, there is no key.", I said to Danny. "That won't be a problem.", Danny said. "Yes it kind of will be. If we come running from that direction and we have no key we'll have no way back it. Unless I train you guys how to do what I do soon enough." I said while pointing in the direction outside of the gate. "Have we locked all the gates up now?", Samantha asked. "Yes we have, but we got another challenge.", I said. "We have to kill any dead one that still on this campus. We can't risk the danger inside our school." Danny and Anthony looked shocked, however Samantha stood straight and determined. "Let's do this.", she said. "We do it as a team. This is our school and we will not lose the potential of having a safe zone.", I said. "Let's go then.", Danny said.
