Dead Among Us

Chapter 6: Night of Dead Ones

We finally reach the school and there are a bunch of dead ones surrounding the gates. "Shit, how are we suppose to get through the gate door.", Danny said. "Danny take out your phone and call Anthony. Put him on speaker.", I said. Lindsey and Samantha look at each other confused for a brief moment. Danny dials Anthony's number quickly and he turns in the speaker. "Dan?", Anthony asked over the phone. "Here Anthony, Edward has some kind of plan.", Danny said. "Anthony I need you to be prepared at the gate like we planned, but I want you to run after you open it. There could be dead ones in the process of getting back in. I need you to distract them also.", I said. "Um....okay but just try not to get killed or get me killed.", Anthony said over the phone. I hang up the phone.

"What are you trying to do mate?", Lindsey asked. "You'll see.", I said while looking out the window. "Danny give me a gun." Danny then quickly opens up the duffle bag, takes out a gun and a magazine that is already loaded with ammo. I grab the gun load it and cock it. "Wayne open up up the window on my side.", I said. "Are your fucking crazy!?", Officer Wayne cried out. "OPEN THE BLOODY THE DOOR!", I shouted. Wayne then lowers the window. A bunch of dead ones spot the car then runners began running towards it. I shoot out the window creating noise, and the Officer Wayne drives off while I still shoot out the window. The runners begin to run after the car.

Wayne then drives right into a neighborhood that is close to the school. Officer Wayne raises the window while still driving. "WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT ALL ABOUT.", Officer Wayne shouted out. Samantha began to cry a bit but Danny lowered the cage window and grabbed her hand. Officer Wayne drives around the neighborhood while trying to remain calm. "I had to lure them away one way or another besides that was just one part of the plan.", I said. "One part?", Lindsey asked. "You and I, we will be making a different entrance than these three.", I said. "What are we gonna do?", Samantha asked. "Wayne I need you to draw the runners attention, the walkers won't be a problem for me and Lindsey, afterwards I need you to find another way back into the school.", I said. "What way?", Wayne asked. "JUST FIGURE IT OUT!", I shouted.

"What are we gonna do?", Lindsey asked. "We are gonna "run" our way back into the school.", I said while looking at Danny and Samantha. Lindsey then looks at them and has an expression that is stoic. "You want to teach them?", Lindsey asked sarcastically. "Yes, but also "We" will teach them. But let's discuss that later.", I said. "Stop the car quickly Wayne." Wayne then stops the car near the exit of the small neighborhood community unlocks the doors. Lindsey and I quickly get out of the car. "We will see you again shortly.", I said. Officer Wayne lowers his window quickly. "Here take these.", Wayne said while handing us two guns. Lindsey grabs one, but I don't.

"I won't be needing that Wayne.", I said while patting my escrima stick holder. "Now GO!" Wayne then floors it out of the neighborhood and a bunch of runners spot them and run after them while Wayne drives off to the right. "Okay, now what.", Lindsey said. "Follow me.". I said while running to a house. Lindsey runs and follows me to a house that was two stories, one front large garage door and two windows on top and one on the right bottom side of the house. I jump onto a car and Lindsey follows me on top of the car as well. "Behind this house, there is a tree that has a long branch that leads right into the school.", I said while pointing at the house.

"So why are we trying to climb the house then?", Lindsey asked. "Because the tree covers the back part of the house. Plus, it is the only easy way into the school. I'm not risking us getting caught by dead ones on the ground.", I said. Lindsey nodded her head and she jumped and grabbed hold of the rooftop of the first floor of the house and pulled herself up. I followed her and walked on the first floor rooftop. This rooftop was connected with the second rooftop. "Is this house abandoned?", Lindsey asked. "Yeah, about three years ago it was abandoned.", I said. "Come on sweets, let's stay focused." Lindsey put her "game face" on and she ran to the wall that connects the second rooftop to the first rooftop and she performed what we runners call a "wall run" and climb.
