JIN POV
The night after the accident was the worst of all, not because of the pain I felt in my shoulder, but because I felt completely helpless with the feeling that I could lose Jungkook in just one second of distraction.
Although I insisted on staying with Jungkook at the hospital, the doctors insisted that I come home to recover. We also needed to pick up his things to take to the hospital.
We came home, and as soon as we arrived, I went straight to my room, opened the wardrobe to get the suitcase, and before I could go to Jungkook's room to start packing his things, Yoongi entered the room.
"Hyungie, stop being a stubborn bitch. You heard the doctor, you can't exert force or lift anything. Just rest, for fuck sake."
I nodded, "F I N E. I'll obey you, just for today. But as soon as I wake up, I'll pack his things..." I pouted because I didn't want to admit he was right."As you wish, worldwide shoulders..." Yoongi gave me a small laugh and didn't argue; we were both exhausted from the last 24 hours. "I'm going to the kitchen, do you need anything else?"
"Actually, yes, I need to take a shower. Can you help me with my shirt?" I asked, and he promptly came to help me. As soon as he left the room, I went into the bathroom and took a warm shower.I only put on shorts in an attempt to not hurt my shoulder and I lay down on the bed, still unable to believe what had happened, staring at the white ceiling and listening to the sounds of the fan on. Sleep quickly arrived, I think due to the strong medications I had taken.
With my eyes closed, I felt the memory of the accident haunting my mind. Immerse in a dream, I began to relive the moment when Jungkook fell from the cliff, as if I were trapped in a painful loop and the idea of losing him was devastating.
The flashes of the accident and the feeling of helplessness made me restless even in my sleep. Each time I relived that distressing moment, my heart tightened, and the guilt weighed even more. I tried to distance myself from the memories, but they persisted, like an endless nightmare.
While I was immersed in this dark dream, the door to the room opened gently, and Yoongi came in and woke me up. "Hyung?" he called me softly, and I opened my eyes startled. "Sorry for waking you up, but I couldn't help but notice that you were restless and tossing in bed. You seemed to be having a nightmare or something. Are you okay?" Yoongi asked with a genuinely concerned look.
I took a deep breath, trying to calm my racing heart after the abrupt awakening.
"I... I'm fine... I dreamt about Jungkook's accident." My voice came out defeated as I got up.Yoongi sat on the edge of the bed, showing care as he put his hands on my shoulders, careful not to cause discomfort in the injured area. "Hyung, I know it's hard to deal with all this, but we need to try to stay calm and strong. Jungkook is recovering well, and the best we can do is support him through this process."
I nodded, appreciating his comforting words. "You're right, Yoongi. It's just hard not to feel guilty, you know?" I couldn't shake off the guilt in my heart.
"That's nonsense, hyung... It wasn't your fault. Jungkook volunteered, and he couldn't have imagined that this would happen either..." he replied calmly.
"No, Yoongi, that's not the whole truth..." I said, swallowing back tears.
"What is the truth then?" he looked at me with a mix of curiosity and compassion.
"Before the shooting started, the director called me and told me that the final scene was with me. That I had to run close to the cliff. But I was afraid of the height and the fucking slippery ground, so Jungkook, who was close to me, overheard everything and, to take care of me, volunteered to go..." I put my hands in my face, trying hard to contain the tears. "I shouldn't have let him do that. I should have done it, but I chickened out, and he went in my place..."
