If anyone thought the teenagers solved the problem between them after hearing about what the other one might be going through, you're mistaken. After breakfast, none of the two spoke to each other.

Cally didn't avoid him like she did at breakfast, but she wasn't willing to talk to him at all. They were both talking to Sirius, so the conversation somehow lasted. But they both refused to direct any words to each other.

"And you guys remember the time we all got our first detention back in the first year? We weren't even close yet and you both got into trouble trying to save my arse." Sirius asked his friends.

They both remembered that day very clearly. It was only two weeks into their first year in Hogwarts. Cally was having trouble adjusting to some wizarding world things so James was helping her late at night, after everyone was fast asleep.

James was telling the girl about the fire talking and floo powder, when they saw a figure walking down the boy's dorm stairs. It was no other than Sirius Black, the boy in their year that shared the same dorm with James.

"What are you two doing up so late in the common room?" the Black boy asked the pair. "Nothing, he was just helping me with the charm we learned today." Cally quickly covered. James smiled at how quick the girl was to cover for both of them, but doing it so that she wouldn't let him seem bad.

"How nerdy. Whatever, since you two are already awake, you should totally join me in the library." he told the other students with a proud attitude. "Why're you even going to the library after curfew? You can always visit it before it's past midnight." Cally asked the boy. That was her first time talking to him, he was much more cheerful than he looked in person.

"Of course I won't be paying a visit to the library just to read books at this hour, i'm going to sneak into the restricted section." Sirius told the girl like it was obvious. "Hell yeah we're coming. I've been thinking about that for a while now." James told the boy with a grin.

"This is a terrible idea. What if madame pince catches us? Or worse, what if Filch catches us?" Cally asked worriedly. "That's where having a friend like me comes in handy Annie. Wait here." James told the other two first years before going to his dorm.

He returned but Cally couldn't see anything useful he might've brought back. The dark made it very hard to see, so both the kids thought their eyes were playing a game when the boy before them disappeared.

"James, where did you go?" Cally called for the boy. Let out a quiet scream when the boy appeared right before her nose. "Wicked! Where'd you get that?" Sirius asked the boy with a very impressed expression. "It's an heirloom. Very cool, isn't it?" the Potter boy replied with a proud grin.

"What if the portraits can see us? They'll tell filch in a heartbeat for sure." the girl whispered with an anxious voice. The three Gryffindor first years were now sneaking into the library, hiding under the invisibility cloak. "Do you ever stop yammering? Just enjoy getting into the restricted section." Sirius scolded the girl while also whispering.

"Hey, no need to be mean mate. She's just trying to be careful." James defended his long time neighbor. Cally sent the boy a thanking smile, although it went unnoticed in the dark.

When they finally entered the restricted section, Sirius got away from the invisibility cloak, wandering between the dusty shelfs by himself. "You stay by my side Annie, he'll get caught if he doesn't get under the cloak again." James told Cally. She had no intention on leaving at the first place, so she did as he told.

After a few minutes, someone called from the outside of the fence keeping the section locked. Even though he tried to hide, Sirius was now caught by madam pince. James and Cally couldn't just walk away when their friend was getting detention, so they joined the boy, making their way to the Mcgonagall's room with madam Pince's leading.
