Web of Lies (A Fred Weasley Fan-fiction)

Chapter seven

Term had dragged on and although the threat of Peter Pettigrew grew, Hogwarts had become busy with the laughter and joy of all those who lived within its walls.

Today marked the most exciting day yet; Halloween. The last few days Lucianna, Fred and George had been pulling pranks at every opportunity. It has started with covering the common room with Non-explodable, luminous balloons, much to the paintings despair, they had also snuck into the prefects' bathroom and had replaced all the soap with Frog Spawn Soap. Amazingly none of them had got into trouble, Lucianna thought that this was largely due to the fact all the professors had been dealing with the stress of Peter Pettigrew.

Halloween was set to be a great one. For the first time Lucianna could go into Hogsmeade; not only that but Theodore Nott had asked her to go to Madam Puddifoot's Tea Shop. Theo and Lucianna had been getting closer and closer ever since their 'study' session. So much so rumours had begun flying around the two were dating; Lucianna was quick to dispel these rumours mainly because she didn't know if she wanted to date him and she also had another problem; Fred.

Ever since summer the two had started getting close. And since the start of this year the two got even closer. Fred still didn't like Theo and Lucianna got the impression Theo didn't care much for him either, though she didn't know why exactly.

As the students pilled into the courtyard the excitement of the day for Lucianna seemed to waver. Harry ran into the courtyard running up to McGonagall waving the permission slip. Lucianna made her way over.

"I'm sorry Mr Potter. But no signed slip means no Hogsmeade trip. I'm sorry Harry, but we can't allow students off the grounds without permission from their guardians." McGonagall sympathetically said, Harry's faced dropped. The first Hogsmeade trip was a great moment for any Hogwarts student, it symbolised growing up and growing responsibilities. "Professor can't one of my dads sign for him. After all he spends basically every holiday with us and I know they wouldn't mind I just know-." Lucianna didn't get the chance to continue, "Miss Lupin-Black, I appreciate that you , Professor Lupin and his husband are Harry's family but legally speaking Mr and Mrs Dursley are his guardians and they have not signed the slip. I'm sorry but Potter you have to stay here." And with that McConagall walked off the gather anymore students who were going to Hogsmeade.

Lucianna gave Harry a sympathetic look, "Harry I can stay here I don't need to go." She offered, Harry shook his head "it's okay. Go, make sure you bring me back some stuff though from HoneyDukes okay?" Lucianna nodded and promised she would, as Harry wandered away Lucianna felt slightly angry at Professor McGonagall, she knew that logically the Professor McGonagall was right but the teenage anger that she felt wouldn't admit that.

"Luc you coming?" George shouted. Lucianna nodded and followed Fred and George to Hogsmeade.

"See you later guys I'm just off to HoneyDukes." Lucianna stated, she wasn't off to HoneyDukes but she hadn't told anyone about her and Theo meeting up. She wasn't sure why exactly but she just knew Fred and George would have something to say about her meeting up with a Slytherin. "Oh, erm I could come with you? Me and George were just gonna go to Zonko's." Fred replied. "No no you guys go I won't be long." She had wanted to say "I promise," but she knew then the lie would just be worst.

As she walked into Madam Puddifoot's Tea Shop, the smell of Pumpkin pasties and coffee hit her like a brick. "Luc! Over here!" Theo shouted, he was sitting at a table in the corner with two cups of coffee on the table and a slice of chocolate cake. As Lucianna walked over her hands felt clammy and her heart raced. "Hey Theo," she said while sitting, "how's you?" Theo smiled at the pink haired girl sitting across from him, "I'm good, really good. I'm glad you agreed to meet me." Lucianna's smile grew.
