Web of Lies (A Fred Weasley Fan-fiction)

Chapter Fourteen

Sunday morning and the Gryffindor common room was silent. A few Gryffindors had fallen asleep on sofas and arm chairs while others had even fallen asleep on the floor. Lucianna however was waking up in Fred's bed. Not in a way that was improper, she was actually sharing the bed with Angelina while her hand was being held by Fred who was on the floor. Last night after Draco's little speech Lucianna had gone back to Fred with more drinks than any of the group could actually get through. Luckily for them Seamus had been unable to get black-market butterbeer yet the amount they consumed meant they were still slightly buzzed.

"Fred. Freddie," Lucianna whispered "mmm, what." He mumbled opening his eyes. "You okay?" Lucianna giggled softly , "yeah just, god I'm dehydrated and tired." Lucianna giggled and got out of the bed stepping over Fred who weakly tried to grab her leg to stop her, "nooo where you going?" He whined earning him a "Weasley shut up." From Lee who was nearby. "I'm going to have a shower and see my dads, I'll be back later okay." Fred hummed in response and said that he wanted a kiss before she went, Lucianna obliged kissing him softly while whispering "go back to sleep."

As Lucianna looked in the mirror after showering and changing she couldn't get what Malfoy had said to her. Crouch. Was all she could think. She had to tell her dads.

Lucianna quickly got into cozy clothes and wandered to Remus' office. She could hear voices so instead of going straight in she positioned her ear against the door, "gentleman there's been talk about Theodore Nott. It seems he has an unhealthy obsession with Lucianna. Professor Snape and I have investigated it and it seems he is not in his right mind. After an altercation last term it seems he has been stalking her. It's only come to my attention after a fellow Slytherin student, who I shall not name, came to me last night saying that Mr Nott had been agitated and aggressive claiming he needed to deliver your daughter to Crouch." Lucianna heard Dumbledore's voice rang out, "what do you mean Albus! To Crouch? Why? By who?" She heard Remus shout, he was loosing his cool, "Lupin I suggest you calm down, don't want to lash out so close to a full moon now so we?" Snape's voice was sarcastic and dehumanising.

Lucianna couldn't listen anymore, after all it was about her. She slammed the door open , her breathe unsteady and her face flushed. "Someone told me last night that he was saying this. Theodore I mean." The four men looked in shock and in the case of Sirius with pride at the girl in the doorway. "Miss lupin-black, I need you to tell me everything that Mr Nott has given you, do you understand." Lucianna nodded, confused at how Dumbledore knew that Theodore had given her gifts. Was it Malfoy who had told him?

"But sir why? I threw most it away and I even threw one thing at his head." Lucianna whispered that last part but they all still heard. Albus nodded "was one of these items a diamond bracelet?" Lucianna nodded "yeah, that's what I threw at his head. I kept telling him to stay away but he kept saying he needed me and I was his. For the record I'm no one's. No one owns me." By this time Sirius had taken place next to his daughter with his arm wrapped around her. "Lucianna, do you have anything else he gave you still?" Albus asked calmly. She thought for a few seconds, "yeah..." she hesitantly replied "a ring. It didn't even fit, it's big definitely a man's ring. Thought it was his, why?" Albus looked at Snape who in return gave a serious yet concerned look back. "After talking to Mr Nott it is clear he is currently under the Imperius curse, do you know what that is?" Albus asked Lucianna who nodded. "It seems that Peter Pettigrew has casted the spell onto the boy yet we still don't understand how or why Theodore keeps talking about Crouch." The adults and Lucianna stood in an uneasy silence, Sirius had tightened his grip around his daughters shoulder.

"Maybe it's to do with the girls parents. Her birth parents that is." Snape sneered, that was it Remus moved forward getting right in Snape's face "don't you dare. This has nothing to do with her mother. It's probably Pettigrew trying to scare us. Show us he's here. Yet. Here you are trying to imply something." Remus spat, it was uncharacteristic for Remus to be like this yet this was his family; Remus would kill and die for his family. "Moony, love. Move away from him." Sirius pleaded and Remus did taking place next to Sirius who , with his free hand, grabbed Remus' hand. "Everyone. Calm." Albus demanded "I believe that Professor Lupin and Mr Lupin-Black have a point. Lucianna I need you to take us to your dorm and give us every item. We will investigate if these items are safe and where they have come from. Now let's go." Everyone went to leave but Lucianna stayed "erm professor if I may go to the tower before you." She smiled sheepishly.
