Jake was in the parking lot along with Hailey, Milly, Zander, Luke and Sean. It was dark and well after the match had let out, the sound of crickets loud in the night and the lamppost above them illuminated the area around them. As they all chatted, they weren't worried about getting home soon, enjoying the presence of one another.

"Drew's shook your hand like, twice now," Hailey mentioned loosely, leaning against her car as she held her helmet with both hands. Her hair was down tonight, framing her face, which was uncommon since she almost always had it up in a messy ponytail.

Jake let out a strained laugh that he really hoped sounded genuine. "Yeah I guess," he paused, "It's sorta weird.." He admitted with a shrug, his arms crossed in front of his chest.

"Next time I win against him he better shake my hand." Milly butted in jokingly. Jake and Hailey both laughed.

As the conversation continued, drifting this way and that, Jake took out his phone from his pocket. His battery percentage alarmingly low as he swiped it open. He opened a new tab and he clicked on his recent searches, finding the lineup for the next match.

Much to his disappointment, Drew was scheduled to drive in a separate match than he was. He pocketed his phone with a short sigh.

After the conversation slowed, with a big yawn Jake excused himself to head home. They all said goodbye as he got in his car and turned on his headlights, backing out of the parking spot.

Jake was waiting in his car for the match to start, the outside of it brightly decorated. He had met up with Hailey and the group again recently to all decorate their cars together, having enough fun last time to decide to do it again. There were a couple scribbles and drawings left from Milly on it, such as a dick that had been poorly crossed out with spray paint.

His match was scheduled before Drew's, and he was determined to go into it with his all despite the lack of adrenaline that he normally felt when he was paired up against Drew. He also wasn't sure if Drew would be there at all, having flaked from the one match that Jake still didn't have an explanation as to why.

He found himself hoping that Drew was there, and he also secretly hoped that he would be watching Jake's match.

With the roar of engines and the blow of the horn, cars were on the move. Immediately Jake noticed how two cars were coming towards him. He swerved, pulling his steering wheel hard, and nearly dodging them he t-boned someone in the side. As he tried to pull away though, his car got smashed forcefully into the car again as someone hit him from behind.

He got hit again by the other car, and he clenched his teeth, body jerking hard. These two cars had no mercy, winding up again just to hit him harder. With a grunt, he tried his best to reverse away from them.

As he tried, smashing his gas pedal to the floor, one of the two cars hit him again hard after winding up. He felt himself accidentally bite down hard on his tongue and the tangy taste of blood filled his mouth.

He managed to get a good hit on one of the cars, managing to drive away from being stuck in the middle of the two, drifting around as mud flew from under his tires. The audience was loud as the other cars slammed into eachother.

The two cars were still on Jake's ass, and at this point it was pretty obvious they were teaming up on him. He tried hard to steer out, swerving.

The blow of an airhorn cutting across the arena was loud despite the growls of cars. Jake slammed down on his brakes hard, his car screeching in protest. The cars around him came to a halt as well, and Jake heard the rumble of engines and the confused murmurs from the audience.
