As Jake pulled his car into the arena, the seat rumbling underneath him as he drove, his attention was called to the bright plum car parked. He felt a rush of adrenaline as he pressed the gas a little harder, steering himself and parking next to the car.

Jake looked out of his passenger side window at him. Drew's arm was resting out the window, one hand on the steering wheel as he looked over at Jake. He didn't have a helmet on.

"Did you miss me, Jake?" Drew asked smoothly, his voice loud over the sound of engines. He looked hot, Jake realized with a red face as he stared at him. He was in a tight, white T-shirt and the tan skin of his arms was on display. He could see his muscles flex on his arm that gripped the steering wheel, a fancy watch adorning his wrist. His hair was bright and looked neat, his bangs slightly falling over his eyes. His eyes were dark and teasing, a cocky smile placed on his face.

"A little." Jake admitted, voice strained and face hot, feeling stuffy underneath his helmet. Before Drew could respond to him though, the blowhorn cut through the arena.

Jake woke up with a start, blearily cancelling the alarm on his phone.

What was that?? He closed his eyes, falling back onto his bed and covering his face with his arms. His body was hot and he kicked off his blanket, chest rising and falling fast.

He bit his lip hard as he lay there. It was just a dream, he repeated over and over in his head, but his face was still hot and his hands were still sweaty as he got up and started getting ready for the day.

The back lot of the demo derby was loud and hectic when Jake arrived, which wasn't unusual. He pulled into his parking spot and got out of his car, heading towards his demo car parked across the lot. He saw Drew a ways away, the plum color standing out to Jake easily. Having memories of that morning, he looked away fast, face hot and feeling embarrassed.

Poor guy didn't deserve Jake to be thinking about him in that way, especially considering Drew hated him. He tried to ignore his queasy stomach as he walked over to Hailey. Her demo car was parked besides his despite driving in separate matches.

Milly greeted him with a sly smirk, standing besides Hailey. "Your favorite competitor's back."

Jake rolled his eyes, pushing down on the brim of her hat so that it fell off of her head. Hailey was watching Drew with a look.

"I wonder where he was?" She asked nonchalantly, Jake immediately responding with a loud, "Woah that's weird!!" mocking her and the group from the previous night.

"Hey! At least I'm not asking around! I just mentioned it because I knew you were thinking it." She crossed her arms in front of her chest, leaning against the hood of her car.

"Hey, maybe you should go ask HIM where's he's been, since you've asked everyone else on the face of the earth." Milly said sassily, and Jake shoved her shoulder playfully as she started laughing.

"Shut up Milly," He muttered and Hailey went quiet as she peaked around his shoulder. The smile dropped from her face and she looked surprised.

"Oh well, I mean I guess you actually CAN ask him." She said softly under her breath, and Jake looked at her confused before turning around. Oh my god, of course Drew was walking in this direction, why wouldn't he be?

He whipped back around, "Hide me," He begged and Milly just laughed.

He stood with his back turned to Drew waiting as he knew he was getting closer, awkwardly watching as Hailey and Milly had the audacity to look amused, standing there silently.
