I know I'm not writing like I used to, I miss it. I just haven't been feeling myself. Got a lot of mental health issues to work on and physical health to improve. I know I said I wouldn't reveal Meryls secret but what you're about to read needs to happen in order for the story to progress. Enjoy this chapter!!
John, Delilah and Demetria returned to the covens library. They shared with Astoria what they learned from Evers and John immediately asked about Mary.
"She's doing ok, we managed to break down the wall but her physical body needs time to heal" Astoria said
"That's good, at least she's still with us" Demetria said
"Is there any way for her to heal faster?? We can't continue this investigation without her. I won't continue this without her." John said firmly
"Not for now but what you've gathered is an advantage. I have a few spells in mind that I hope can help us against the ones Marietta is using" Astoria said
"What about her familiar? Their bond is strong and he might help speed up the process" Demetria suggested
"Of course!! How could I have forgotten?? He's being taken care of at Warleens home" John said "I'll go get him"
"Johnny remember you can't-" Before Cassandra finished that sentence, be disappeared "Teleport there" she sighed "He never listens, does he?" She sighed
Warleen/Cher's house
Elijah was informing Don, Louisa and Grace that Barnaby was doing better. Which to him, that meant that Meryl was somewhat getting better. If Barnaby was awake but not fully aware, it meant something was still going on with Meryl but that she was ok. Of course, the Gummers didn't know that but Cher and Elijah were still monitoring the dog.
"Can we take him home?" Don asked
"Not yet, Meryl entrusted us with him for a reason and I understand you still have stuff to do. Mom is multitasking between him and her work and I keep a full eye on him while I'm writing the music for my next album" Elijah said "I promise, he'll be fine"
"By why can't we take him to the vet?" Grace asked
"Meryls instructions were that if something happens to him, to bring him here. We have to believe that she knows what she's doing" Louisa said
"Right, so don't worry, vets have come over to check on him over the week and says all he needs it's rest. They've told us that he can't be moved much for we might not know the consequences that might bring" Elijah said, the the girls grunted
Out of the blue, there was a sudden "pop" sound and a confused Johnny Depp stood beside them "Uh oh"
Elijah's eyes widened, alarms suddenly sounding all around the house "Oh boy"
The Gummer trio startled and confused "What the hell? Where did you just come from?" Don said covering their ears
"Oh my God, Johnny Depp" Grace said surprised
Elijah kneeled in front of the center table and waved under it. After he stood up, he looked at Johnny "Moms going to kill you, you set off her wards"
Johnny raised his hands in defense "It wasn't intentional!!"
"What the- how did you-huh?" Louisa stuttered
"Johnny!!" An angry voice sounded, they turned to see Chers angry face and her hair literally flaming red and on fire "You have 10 seconds to tell me why the hell did you pop into my living room knowing there could be people around before you discover the literal meaning of the phrase "warm and toasty" and I don't mean it lightly" she said approaching him at every word
"I was aiming for the dog!!" He defended signaling the creature on the sofa "I did mean to pop in your front door but it didn't happen"
Cher kept staring at him, deciding if she should believe him or not "Mom, you're on fire and the Gummers are staring at you, deep breathes"
Cher backed off Johnny and looked at the surprised guest. She inhaled and took a few deep breaths. Her hair went out and returned to its black color "I'm sorry you had to see that, everything will be explained as soon as I deal with him" she turned to Johnny "Now, what are you doing here?"
"Wait a minute, we deserve an explanation" Don said clearly agitated
"I need the dog" Johnny said, ignoring what the man said
"He woke up this morning, though he's still not moving. that means" Cher gasped "She's awake?"
"Not quite" Johnny answered "She's still unconscious but that's because her body needs to heal. That's why I came for Barnaby. I thought, as his familiar, he can help her recover"
"Recover? If you want to take Barnaby, that means something has happened to mom. What happened? Why do you need him?" Grace said
Johnny sighed, he walked towards Barnaby and carried him off the couch "Look I can't really explain what you saw but Cher here will be happy to put you at ease"
"What??!!!" She exclaimed but before she could say another word, he disappeared "Asshole" she grunted
"What is going on with Meryl? Can she do what he did? What the hell is going on?" Don demanded
"Ok look, come here and I'll explain" Cher instructed and the three stood in front of her. Elijah, unknowingly to them blew in their faces making them space out for a moment before Cher said "Meryl had a minor accident on set but there's nothing to worry about. She's ok, she called me because she didn't want to worry you. Johnny Depp was on a small break and thought it was a good idea to get her Barnaby to cheer her up. It's all good"
They blinked for a few seconds before looking at her "Oh well, at least she's ok" said Grace
"It would've been nice if she told us though but I guess I understand" Don said
"If you get any calls from her, tell her to let us know how she's doing" Louisa said
"Of course, now, my producers are gonna be here any minute and I need to get ready. See you soon??" they agreed, said their goodbyes and went out
Once gone, Cher plummeted on the couch and sighed "Shit"
"That was close" Elijah chuckled, he received a glare from his mother but she said nothing
Back the library
Johnny popped up with the dog in his arms "Got him" he cheered
"Don't do that again John!! You know you're not suppose to disappear without focusing on your destination" Cassandra scolded
"Yeah yeah, I already got told off by Warleen so don't waste your energy. At least I got Mary's familiar" He said
"Let's bring him to her" said Astoria
They went to her room, seeing her so still and pale saddened all of them. Johnny placed Barnaby on top of Meryl so he could lay there. He started to whimper slightly until they saw he started glowing. They waited in anticipation for at least 5 minutes. Suddenly Mary's eyes began to flutter open.
"Welcome back" Astoria said smiling
Mary looked around confused and slightly pained "What happened?" She noticed Barnaby and smiled. She started to remember and began petting Barnaby "Good boy"
"How are you feeling? We were so worried" Demetria says
"I'm going to kill that bitch" Mary replied "I'm still weak"
"Just rest" said John "As for killing the bitch, get in line" he chuckled
"You're going to feel that way but give it a few hours and you'll be good as new" Cassandra said
"We need to catch you up and again start the hunt" Delilah said giving her a smirk which she returned. Marietta had a lot to answer for.
