"Wei Ying?" Lan Wangji frowned, looking down at him with confusion. His hand tightened around Wei Wuxian's waist as he asked, "Why not?"

Wei Wuxian yelped slightly at the anaconda-like strength that currently threatening to constrict his blood circulation, "Ah, Lan Zhan, don't squeeze too hard! Let me explain myself, okay?"

"Mn." Lan Wangji loosened up his grip but not letting Wei Wuxian escape his hold.

Wei Wuxian exhaled a relief breath, his fingers absently played with the hem of Lan Wangji's sleeve as he explained, "The thing is... I'm supposed to be helping Jiang Cheng to rebuild Lotus Pier. He needs me there, Lan Zhan."

Lan Wangji furrowed his brows before his expression became more understanding. "Alright. I understand," he said, pressing a kiss onto his hair before letting go.

"But..." Wei Wuxian grabbed Lan Wangji's hand again, his eyes twinkling like starlight as he proposed, "Do you want to come with me to Lotus Pier instead?"

Lan Wangji looked thoughtful. For a few seconds he stayed quiet, contemplating. Eventually he nodded, agreeing to his question, "Yes."

A grin broke out across Wei Wuxian's face. "Really?"

Lan Wangji's reply came out without any hesitation, "Mn."

Wei Wuxian's heart swelled. His cheeks flushed a rosy pink as his excitement began to boil inside his chest. He threw himself at his partner, hugging him tightly, eliciting a startled gasp from the latter. "Finally, you agree to come to Lotus Pier!" Wei Wuxian squealed excitedly, burying his face into Lan Wangji's collarbone. "Do you know how many times did I invite you to come and you callously rejected me, Lan Zhan? I thought you really despise me that you refused my invitations."

Lan Wangji stiffened at Wei Wuxian's outburst. He patted the back of his head, a small smile tugging at the corner of his lips, "Ask me again and see if I reject anything ever again."

Wei Wuxian laughed in delight, his cheeks hurting. "Oh, Lan Zhan. I never take you as a sweet person. How could I miss out on all this sweetness? I had wasted years of my life!"

Lan Wangji's smile becoming more pronounced at Wei Wuxian's words. He then said "It was three times."

"Huh?" Wei Wuxian looked up only to be dazed with the mesmerizing smile that he saw on Lan Wangji's face right now.

"The number of invitations that you gave out." Lan Wangji said with a deadpan face.

"Oh... Hahahahaha!" Wei Wuxian wheezed, slapping Lan Wangji's shoulder with a wide grin plastered over his face. "Lan Zhan! You fuddy duddy!"

Lan Wangji hummed thoughtfully, a faint blush tinting his ears. His fingers ran through Wei Wuxian's soft black locks, he admitted, "I was going to accept it if you ask me another time."

Wei Wuxian couldn't believe he actually managed to get Lan Wangji to blush. The man who would always look stoic was suddenly acting so shy and vulnerable? This was unheard of. But he was going to savour this moment for as long as possible, no matter what happened. He'd even take a beating just to see that look of embarrassment on Lan Wangji's face again. A mischievous grin grew on Wei Wuxian's face as he teased Lan Wangji by nuzzling against his cheek, "Lan Er Gege, you are adorable."

Lan Wangji immediately turned crimson red when he heard the nickname. His hands clenched onto the fabric of Wei Wuxian's robes, "Wei Ying... Don't..."

Wei Wuxian grinned smugly. "Why are you so flushed, Er Gege?" He whispered into Lan Wangji's ear, his voice husky and teasing, "Are you embarrassed about being called 'Gege'?"

Lan Wangji groaned in exasperation but he knew how to shut Wei Wuxian up now. By physically closing his lips with his own, effectively silencing Wei Wuxian.

"What the fuck??" Jiang Cheng's thunderous voice echoed throughout Baifeng mountain, shocking the wildlife into fleeing the area. Birds took off in panic as they almost had a heart attack from how loud his yelling was, causing leaves to scatter in the air and making a rustle sound every few seconds.

Both of them jumped as if electrocuted when they heard him shout from a distance. Wei Wuxian whirled around just in time to see Jiang Cheng emerge from the shade of the trees that lined the path leading to the stream of water. His martial brother's expression contorted into one of disgust, " Why are you two kissing each other?!" he demanded, pointing a finger at Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian.

Wei Wuxian blinked owlishly before turning his head away and giving Lan Wangji a peck on his cheek. Then, with an overly innocent and cheerful smile, he said, "Jiang Cheng, you are just in time. Do you mind if Lan Zhan come with us to Yunmeng?" His tone made it quite clear that he wanted Lan Wangji there with him. That was very clearly implied by the way his hands were still resting on the lapels of Lan Wangji's robes, and he didn't seem ready to let go anytime soon.

"Huh?? Why??" Jiang Cheng spluttered, looking incredulously at the pair, unable to comprehend why Wei Wuxian would invite someone who was practically his nemesis, the one he fought tooth and nail every time they met . It made zero sense. Unless...? No, it wasn't possible. Right? "

"Well, you see..." Wei Wuxian patted Lan Wangji's chest in emphasis, "We are together."

Jiang Cheng's eyes bulged out of their sockets and his jaw dropped open to the point where it almost hit the ground. "Whaaaaat!?" he screeched, sending another flurry of birds scattering to higher altitudes. He then pointed at both of them, "Wait, wait... Wait a fucking minute... You mean..." He glanced between the pair with wide eyes, "You guys... are...? What???!!!"

Wei Wuxian chuckled, "Yeah? " he answered, leaning into Lan Wangji's side, "Me and him. Together."

Jiang Cheng almost Qi deviated right there and then because holy shit! Those two?!

He was sure he was having an out of body experience because he couldn't wrap his brain around what he was hearing. But the evidence was right before his eyes, staring him in the face.
