The next day after the wedding, Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji were ready to go back to Burial Mound. Lan Qiren and the other elders agreed that Lanling Jin Sect has to answer for the questionable acts that they did but they couldn't take in the Wen remnants for political reasons. Hence, they did not stop the couple from leaving Cloud Recesses and return to Yiling.

Jiang Cheng looked at the newlyweds with a frown. Well, they look happy, he thought.  And for a moment, he was happy for his martial brother. But he wouldn't admit or tell Wei Wuxian that. And that thought last for about five seconds before he scowled once again at the sight of the couple acting awfully smitten. "We're leaving." He told them. "Are you two returning to that place after this?"

Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji nodded.

Lan Wangji bowed slightly towards Jiang Yanli, "Thank you for everything, Maiden Jiang."

"I didn't do much, Hanguang-jun." Jiang Yanli replied with a small bow of her head, smiling at the couple. "Please take care of each other, alright?"

"Of course we will!" Wei Wuxian beamed. "Don't worry about us, Shijie. We're strong, you know?"

Jiang Yanli chuckled softly, "I know. But still, be safe, alright?"

"Try not to do anything stupid and reckless in the mean time then." Jiang Cheng warned, locking his gaze at Wei Wuxian.

Wei Wuxian laughed lightly and wrapped an arm around Lan Wangji, "My husband here will prevent me from doing all that, right, Lan Zhan?" Lan Wangji hummed in response, nodding.

Jiang Cheng rolled his eyes and turned away from the duo, "Ugh, goodbye then." He muttered before turning around, walking towards the exit of Cloud Recesses.

Wei Wuxian waved his hand while grinning widely, "I'll see you later."

They both watched as the Yunmeng Jiang entourage left the premise before turning to Lan Xichen whose smile never fell.

"We'll see you two in three days in Lanling then." Lan Xichen said, sending the couple off to the gate. The plan was to have a formal confrontation with Jin Guangshan over what happened together.

"Yes, Brother." Lan Wangji bowed his head. Wei Wuxian followed suit.

Lan Xichen looked at the couple fondly feeling his heart full at the sight. The newlyweds' face were radiant with happiness and joy. It was contagious.  He smiled even wider, the corners of his lips pulled up to his ears. "Once again, congratulations to you both."

"Thank you, Zewu-jun. For everything." Wei Wuxian bowed deeply at his now brother-in-law.

"We're family now. So, you have to stop calling me by my title." Lan Xichen said with a soft chuckle.

"Ah... Right." Wei Wuxian agreed bashfully. He rubbed the back of his neck before saying, "Xichen-ge?"

Lan Xichen grinned approvingly, "That sounds nice, Wuxian."

Wei Wuxian's expression brightened, pleased to hear Lan Xichen say his name casually.  He felt like he had gained an elder brother for himself. A sincere smile blossomed on his lips.

"Wei Ying, we have to go now." Lan Wangji reminded gently.

"Be well then, both of you." Lan Xichen told them softly and turned away from them to continue his duties.

Wei Wuxian was already looking at Lan Wangji. A huge grin stretched across his face as he said. "Let's go, husband!"

"Mn." Lan Wangji hummed, his hand reaching out to grab Wei Wuxian's waist.
