Right after that confrontation in Koi Tower, Nie Mingjue launched his own extensive investigation about the Qiongqi path incident. It didn't take long for him to find out that the Jin Clan was indeed involved in some shady practices and he also unearth a shocking truth: Xue Yang was being sheltered by none other than Lanling Jin. The revelation sent his temper skyrocketing, and he didn't even grant a moment's pause for Jin Guangshan's feeble justifications. How could anyone with the audacity to protect a cold-blooded mass murderer possibly be deemed worthy of the title of Chief Cultivator?

"We should not let him hold that position any longer! He is an awfully greedy criminal wearing a mask of a righteous cultivator!" Nie Mingjue said, clenching his fist at the mere idea of it. "Who knows what kind of atrocities that he would commit by exploiting that position if we let him be any longer?"

"I agree, Sect Leader Nie. Wholeheartedly." Wei Wuxian said, nodding his head vigorously.

"Wei Wuxian." Lan Qiren frowned at this person who he had to call his nephew-in-law, clearly disapproving of something the younger man was doing. He looked as if he were about ready to go on another one of those lectures on Lan Clan rules and how important it is to follow them.

"Yes, Shushu?" Wei Wuxian responded smoothly, flashing his bunny smile.

Lan Qiren cringed internally at the address (he was not used to or probably wouldn't be able to get used to being called 'Shushu' by Wei Wuxian) before saying, "Can you sit properly first before you talk?" His gaze was fixed at Wei Wuxian who was leaning his head heavily against Lan Wangji's shoulder, his hand wrapped lovingly around his nephew's upper arm. "Even if you two are married, please refrain from committing public indecency. We are in the middle of a formal discussion." He admonished sternly.

"Ah... right, sorry. Sorry, Shushu." Wei Wuxian grinned sheepishly. He pulled away from Lan Wangji and sat up straight in his seat (not before winking cheekily at his husband whose tender loving eyes fixed at him).

Jiang Cheng could only shake his head at his martial brother's antic and rolled his eyes, he sincerely prayed to heavens that Wei Wuxian would not behave like a shameless person for once. "How about the other sects?" He asked.

"Some are on our side while some other major sects don't seem willing to do anything." Lan Xichen replied with a sigh. "They were worried about the both political and economic repercussion for going against the Sect Leader Jin. After all, Lanling Jin is the wealthiest clan among all of the clans at the present."

"Of course they are the wealthiest, they barely get any damages or casualties during the war. They didn't even get themselves involve until the very last minute." Wei Wuxian rolled his eyes. "Those other sects who still supported Jin Guangshan should really get their morals checked. Their righteousness could be easily bought by money. However, we don't need them and their puny contributions." He stated with a shrug.

It was a fact that without the help of other sects, the three sects were enough to bring Lanling Jin sect down. Besides, Wei Wuxian himself could be considered as a one-man army.

"So, what do you suggest we do?" Jiang Cheng asked, crossing his hands across his chest. "It doesn't seem like Jin Guangshan would step down willingly and peacefully."

"Figured. After all, he is too greedy to give up the seat of power." Wei Wuxian remarked. "We have to strip him from the position by force then." Wei Wuxian said simply.

"Wuxian, we can't just start another war. It wasn't that long since Sunshot campaign ended. The commoners would suffer the brunt." Lan Xichen voiced out his concern.

Wei Wuxian shook his head, "I am not saying that we will completely start a full-blown war, Xichen-ge. We can just overthrow Jin Guangshan's legacy."

"A rebellion?" Lan Wangji guessed.

"Yeah. That." Wei Wuxian nodded his head, "My husband is the smartest." He grinned proudly, leaning towards Lan Wangji again.

Everyone else cleared their throat as if it was an automatic response causing Wei Wuxian to straighten up again with a pout. Lan Wangji sneakily reached out his hand to cover his husband's under the table causing him to beamed brightly again.

"So, are you suggesting that we lay siege to the Lanling Jin clan?" Jiang Cheng inquired impatiently. He could no longer tolerate the mushiness between the lovebirds.

"We probably don't have to go for a full scale siege. Lanling Jin clan might think they're the new Heaven after Qishan Wen Clan's fall. But, they don't exactly have the same firepower." Wei Wuxian pointed out. "And with all three of our clans coming together, I'm sure we can take them down without much problem."

The others hummed at this.

"We should start preparing for it now, then." Lan Xichen said solemnly, looking rather downcast.

The discussion continued for hours afterwards, going over logistics, strategies, and finally the matter of who would lead the operation. In the end, it was decided that Nie Mingjue would lead the attack, and it would take place in a week's time.

When it was over, the sun had long set and the moon shone through the window. In their designated room for the night, Wei Wuxian was sitting on Lan Wangji's lap, his legs thrown over Lan Wangji's thighs and his arms draped loosely around his husband's neck. "Finally! I was dying to cuddle with you all day." Wei Wuxian complained petulantly, pressing himself closer to Lan Wangji who stroked his hair soothingly.

"Me too." Lan Wangji said softly, placing a chaste kiss atop Wei Wuxian's forehead. He felt Wei Wuxian smile contentedly against his neck.

"Lan Zhan, I think you don't want to just cuddle, do you?" Wei Wuxian murmured teasingly, "I feel that something hard poking at me." He said, wiggling his hips, earning a low groan from the man below him as he rubbed his hip against the offending object.

Lan Wangji flipped him over, pushing him down to the mattress. He hovered a breath away from Wei Wuxian, his eyes gleaming beneath the soft light of the candle and his hand trapping both Wei Wuxian wrists above his head. His voice was husky with lust as he rasped, "I want you, Wei Ying." With that, he lowered his mouth onto Wei Wuxian's, capturing his lips hungrily.

Wei Wuxian moaned happily when they met, tangling his fingers into Lan Wangji's dark locks as he kissed him back eagerly, feeling the latter's hand roam further downwards along his body.

Lan Wangji was making quick work of undressing them both , and once both their clothes were discarded, Lan Wangji began his own assault upon Wei Wuxian's flesh. Moist kisses and gentle touches trailed across Wei Wuxian's exposed skin as Lan Wangji explored his husband thoroughly, making sure the man knew just how much he loved him and how badly he wanted him.

A loud knock on the door interrupted their passionate embrace which caused them both to freeze momentarily.

"FOR GOD'S AND MY SANITY'S SAKE! PUT ON SOME SILENCING TALISMAN ON, WOULD YOU PLEASE?!" Jiang Cheng's voice shouted from the other side of the door, sounding extremely annoyed. He was the poor unwilling neighbor of the couple this time and the loud lewd noises was hard to ignore. "We got that you two are fucking married! There is no need to let the entire world hear about it!" He continued grumbling. He could sympathize with Lan Qiren, now that he experienced the same thing.

Wei Wuxian laughed breathlessly, "Was I too loud, Lan Zhan?"

"Mn." Lan Wangji answered simply.

"How about trying silencing charm on me?" Wei Wuxian suggested playfully. "It'd be fun."

Lan Wangji shook his head, "No."

"Why not? You casted it on me multiple times for tiniest reasons before." Wei Wuxian teased, grinning coyly at his husband.

Lan Wangji answered by kissing him. "If I cast the spell, I can't kiss you like this." He murmured softly against Wei Wuxian's swollen lips.

"Hanguang-jun, you're really shameless." Wei Wuxian laughed.

"FOR FUCK SAKE, I CAN STILL HEAR YOU GUYS!" Jiang Cheng's voice boomed once again, this time accompanied with a kick to their door.

With that, Lan Wangji pulled back to find silencing talisman in his robe and let it flew at the door. He didn't waste more time after that and went back to doing what he started. Because, 'every day is every day' and he intended to keep his words.
