My Older Brothers

"Can I go back inside now?"

We just finished setting up the tents and now we're starting a fire in the fire pit. Lane complained the whole time and this is his fifth time asking the same question.

"No." Kade says

Lane groans. "There are a lot of bugs outside at night."

"Deal with it." Martin says

Cole goes in a bag and digs out a small can of bug stray. He holds it out to Lane. "You want some bug stray?"

"Bug stray is gross. It make your skin feel weird." Lane says

Cole shrugs and puts it back. "Fine. Let the bug eat you alive."

We all sit down around the fire pit and try to get comfy.

"So, what are we going to do now?" Miles asks Kade

Kade thinks for a while before shaking his head. "I didn't really plan this out. My brain didn't go farther then building tents before dark. That's why I-"

"Wait. So you invited us out here just to build tents and sleep in them all night? Are you stupid?" Lane interrupts him

Kade glares. "You didn't let me finish. I was going to say while we were building the tents I asked Emily to come over and she said yes."

"Your girlfriend?" Martin asks

Kade nods. "That's the one."

"Yay." I clap my hands in excitement

I haven't talked to Emily in a while and I haven't seen her come over either. Kade's been keeping her all to himself.

Beck rolls his eyes. "Great, as if one girl wasn't enough."

"Emily's cool, unlike our sister." Kade says

"I can be cool if I want to." I defend myself

All my brothers laugh, even Cole. 

"Oh Hazel, you're such a dreamer." Miles says

"I'm cooler than all you guys combined." I state

"That's a lie." Kade says

I sigh in frustration and cross my arms. "Emily, tell them I'm cool." 

My brothers turn to the door where Emily stands next to it, as she closes behind her. She has shopping bags in her hands as she walks towards us.

"Hazel's cool." She says

"What about me!?" Kade asks

She smiles teasingly. "You're alright."

Kade, being the dramatic person he is gasps. He stares at her in shock. 

"Alright!?" He says in disbelief

She smirks before sitting down next to him and giving him a quick peck on the lips.

"EWWWW" The rest of my brothers and I say in union

Kade glares at us and Emily laughs.

"What'd you bring?" Beck asks as he motions to the bag in her hands

"Oh." Emily goes into the bag and starts taking the things out. "We're going to make smores!"  Emily says joyfully

"I love smores" Miles says

Emily opens a bag of  big marshmallows and we all grab one. We each get a thin wooden stick and put our marshmallows on them before holding them over the fire.

"Can I have a piece of chocolate?" Beck asks

"No, save it for the smores." Martin says

"But I want one now." Beck whines
