devilish - chase atlantic

❝  The boys and I are at moms book signing with Susannah. Steven and Jere are fooling around with a tower of books, while Connie is pouring himself a drink. I join him, "Hey, will you pour me one too?"

He turns to me and smiles, as he hands me his glass, "Sure, didn't know you were a drinker."

"Nah, I don't usually drink, it's just the Cousins air. And this is also one of the rare opportunities where you will talk to me. Connie, what's up with you?" I ask him.

We've always been close but this summer he seems to be super introverted, it just feels like there is something on his mind. "Jules, please, no. Not now."

He is excused as mom calls him over to talk to this old guy standing in front of her. Ugh, he is so lucky, otherwise I would have cornered this little asshole until he'd speak.

As he left, I walk towards Jere and Steven, who are sitting on the sofa, playing on their phones.

"Hello there, what are you guys up to?" I ask them. "Steven's texting Shayla," Jere winks at me, "And I'm playing clash of clans. Wanna watch? I'm so good at this game."

I laugh as I get up to stand behind him so I could watch his game.

Conrad gets back to us, plants himself onto the sofa and complains about how boring this book signing is. "Can we go somewhere?" he wants to know.

Steven scoffs, "Yeah, where?"

"We could go into town. I don't know, buy some weed from that guys with the Rainbow Dash tattoo?" Jere suggests.

"Nah, he got arrested for that last summer," Conrad tells him.

Steven's got an idea, "Yeah, we could go to the drive-in."

"Dude, gross. No, I don't want to watch Belly hooking up with some kid in the back seat of a minivan," Jere cries.

I interfere, "No, guys. That's not happening, let Belly have this moment once. We're not going there."

"Yo, actually...," Conrad mumbles, "Let's go to the drive-in."

"Stop being assholes, Conrad we are not going!" I'm really mad at this point.

But they already got up, about to leave.

And this is how I ended up in the back of Jeremiahs car, about to crash Bellys date.

I feel terrible, but there is no way to stop them, I tried so hard, but they just wouldn't listen to me.
I decided to go with them, so I could maybe control them a little bit.
