Maybe we're lost?

We're on a playground

Even though we're supposed to be at a party

We swing back and forth, getting higher and higher

Each new height taking us to this peach fuzz of emotions we never express verbally

We slide into lies we promised we'd never tell

We put our hands onto the monkey bars as we hold out hope for us

We soar on the bouncing aeroplanes that rocked us into infinity

Nerves about it all come crashing down

But to us, it was all worth it

We had our set destination

A paradise no one would strip from us

We held onto our seats for hope at our soon destination

But then it all comes back to me...

Our playground was stripped away,

Leaving nothing but forbidden memories we'd never return to

And eventually forget

Our planes crashed

Although nothing was given to prepare us for impact

See paradise has this way of consuming the minds of lovers who only dare to dream of surviving the crash

We were too consumed with what we'd hoped our paradise would be

We never noticed we'd never made it

But we were never going to
