Chapter 5: A drink with the gods

 (3rd person)

Nova would play his music the entire time he walked anywhere. He thought it was calming and would always play Nocturne No. 2

Nova was making his way on the 7 train to the last stop when a crazy homeless guy entered the cart.

"CAN ANYBODy- SPARE ME SOME CHANGe-!" the homeless man shouted. He was dressed in old rags and was carrying a cardboard sign that said help the poor Please He clearly was a dropout if he didn't know how to spell the word please correctly.

The train back to Hudson yards was mostly empty, only rich people who either lived there or worked overnight.

The hobo started harassing a fine dressed woman around the age of 34. She was dressed in a black and white attire like if she was a servant.

"Please stop!" she shouted as she backed into the corner of the train. The train had stopped right before it got to hudson yards.

"Really man."

"YOU! Rich man, give me money!" the hobo said to Nova.

"Never in a million years, now be gone" With a finger flick, the hobo vanished forever.

"A WIZARD!!! HE'S A WIZARD!" One guy said pointing towards Nova.

"I JUST SAVED YOUR LIVES HERE" He shouted and teleported into his apartment.

Nova POV

It was tiring to be a god. Being a god meant you had way more responsibilities. Look at Saturn, he has three kids now and Saturn can barely finish his algebra homework.

Today I was getting a break from Saturn's wall street (where people invest in stocks).

I got ready, I put on my best black suit and pulled back my black hair so that it would loosely all come down. I did some hair drying and used other products. In the end I think I look semi good.

I teleported to Broadway and 57th street to enter Hades Haven.

As soon as I pushed the iron doors the smell of booze and beer came straight to my face. I tried to go the other way but he stopped me before I could say the word Massachusetts.

"Why there, hello my dear uncle! Come for another drink?" Hades' snuggled face was so easy to be enlarged to if you didn't have your priorities set straight.

"I think I will pass on this one Hades," I patted his back before leaving but then as soon as I pulled the door, two ladies came in.

"Aaa, mother! Tetra!" Hades shouted. It was hard to even hear his voice from all the screaming and laughter going around. The DJ was cranking it up so high I thought for a second the glass bottles would crack open.

"Son! How is my favorite child!" Tetra said smooching Hades.

"Mom! I am 18 now! I am an adult!" He said.

"Yes yes Hades, run along now, I have to talk with my cousin" Tetra said staring at me.

"Okay bye, and Hi Lunacies!"

"Hello Hadies!" Lunacies said. It was weird but she always pronounced Hades name with an I.

"Did you want to talk to me Tetra?" I asked.

"Well yes but my husband has to come first" she said blushing.

Tetra was always very nice to me but I didn't know what she needed her husband for. I was already glad I didn't have to go to work today and now I have to see my boss.

Sigh.

We found a table for four and sat down. It was a table where each person sat at their own side. The chairs were cushioned and we were sitting at the back of the club. The music was a bit faint here.

Saturn teleported a few seconds later holding his cat. Peter.

"NOVA! My favorite worker and cuz of course" Saturn said, giving me a hug.

"Lunacies! Hello! May you hold my cat for me while me and Nova talk?" Saturn smiled.

"Of course Saturn!" Lunacies said grabbing ahold of Peter. He was a ginger cat with a black stripe that went down to his belly.

"Well Nova, how should I start?" Saturn said. He was a slow thinker, especially when it came to remembering things.

"How about a drink first?" Tetra suggested.

Tetra summoned four drinks that had pure ichor in it. I had no idea why we had to drink god blood as beer?

"Drink up hun!" she told me. I looked at the liquid hazily realizing I had no choice.

"No."

I turned to see Lunacies spilling the drink on the floor.

"I don't like your highness," she said.

"Well, well, in that case. Saturn please tell them why we brought them here" Tetra said.

"Wait what- I thought your son was the one who wanted me here?" I was confused.

"Actually, that is where you're wrong. I need you to take over something for me while I'm gone" Saturn started saying.

"Me and Tetra are going on vacation."

"WHAT! THAT IS SO GOOD!" Lunacies shouted.

"Yes but it would be hard being on vacation if we have to control our domains!"

I didn't like where this was going.

"What are you trying to say here Saturn?" I asked.

"Well Nova, we need you and Luna to take over our domains while we are gone!" Saturn said.

I shouted.
