EVERYTHING WAS quiet, not the comfortable quiet that noa loved, it was the type of quiet that sent chills up her spine. goosebumps littered her skin, a few cars laid totaled in ditches, and not a peep could be heard. normally she would've wished everything would go quiet, wish for the cars to go silent and for the noisy city to fall under a blanket of silence.

now she missed it. she'd never realized how much she took it for granted until then.

the trio walked quietly, through the dark tunnel. the sounds of their shoes hitting the pavement bouncing off the dark concrete walls. she felt like she was dreaming, a fever dream is what it'd felt like since she woke up. perhaps it all was just a nightmare. raising her hand, she pinched at the skin on her arm, wincing lightly. she dropped her hand back down.

anna looked at her weirdly, raising a brow at the girl. "wanted to see if i was sleeping; unfortunately i'm not." she told softly, anna lightly laughed at the girls words. shaking her head softly, she went quiet upon seeing kenneth's harsh eyes.

the sudden sound of gun shots rung off, kenneth was quick, he grasped the teens arm yanking her behind a car. the three crouched down, kenneth fired his shot gun. noa placed her hands on each ear, attempting to muffle the loud shots that were being fired back and forth. heavy breaths falling from her lips, her knees pulled to her chest.

a man's voice rung out, the gun shots over powered his voice before they slowly went out. the loud bangs died, and slowly noa pulled her hands from her ears, looking to anna who now stood beside kenneth. slowly a man lowered his gun, a women stood behind him. one of her hands rested on her plump pregnant belly.

the six hard a staring contest, "is that a kid?" the man holding the gun questioned, looking to noa who shrunk. "yes dipshit." kenneth told, glaring at the man who returned on. noa huffed.

"where you headed?" a man dressed in dark jeans and a white button up questioned. quick to change the subject before it could result in more gun fire. "saint ford" keneth spoke after a brief pause, the two girls beside him slowly nodded.

"there's nothing left there" the man holding the gun told, his free hand clutching onto the pregnant women's hand her free hand rested on her belly. "how you know that?" keneth questioned as the blonde man looked between the two at his side. "there used to be eight of us" he spoke sadly. noa frowned, feeling bad for the man and who he'd lost.

the dark skinned man headed towards the gate with his wife in tow. "we're headed to the mall" the blonde man spoke as the three nodded slowly. "an odd time for a shopping trip." noa told lightly, voice barley audible. kenneth sent her a quirked brow, not finding her comment funny. "you were supposed to laugh. it was a joke." now retorted, following after him. "i'm micheal" the blonde spoke as the three nodded. "anna" the blonde women responded.
