"And you better not be late, Song Ahra." My father says, reprimanding me even though I'm 19 years old. He swears I'm gonna get myself killed if I do one thing wrong. My father has always been protective of me but ever since I turned 18, it's been a little intense.

"So, what did he want now?" My best friend, Minji, asks me.

"A dinner with someone important." I say, already expecting it to be the same old stuff. I've attended so many meals with 'important people' that I've lost track.

Han Minji is the only person who keeps me sane because it's incredibly hard not to want to run away with the overbearing parents I have. I won't say I'm not privileged and grateful for everything I have, because I am. I just wish I could have had a more normal childhood.

I've never even had a boyfriend because my parents were so afraid something bad would happen. Sometimes it feels like they are scared to let me be a normal person for once. Minji has always been there for me, though. We've been friends since the first grade and we intend to stay friends for the rest of our lives. We've made it 12 years and we're still going strong.

"You want me to go with you?" Minji asks. Minji's parents are business partners with mine so that's what brought us together.

"Nah, I'll suffer alone just this once. Thanks anyways." I say and she nods, ruffling my hair as a way to show affection.

"I'm sorry Ahra, but I've gotta head out now. I need to watch my little sister again." Minji says and I pout but let her go anyway. Minji's little sister is 11, making them 8 years apart. Mina is very important to Minji so I never interfere when it comes to her, plus she's the sweetest child ever. Unlike Minji and I when we were that age.

After getting ready to meet some more 'important people' I go outside where my driver is waiting in the car.

"Ready to go, Ahra?" He asks me and I nod. I made sure that all the people who work for my family speak informally to me. I think it's ridiculous to have to speak formally to someone so much younger than you.

"You know, you should go in with a positive attitude." Mr. Lee says, looking at me through the mirror of the car.

"How long have you known me?" I ask him. He chuckles before he answers.

"Since you were born, Ahra." He says and I nod my head.

"My attitude will remain negative." I say and he simply shakes his head.

After a 30 minute drive, we finally pull up to an annoyingly big house. It is familiar, yet not one I've spent most of my time in. Why are we at my parents' business house? I get escorted out of the car and to the front door. Sometimes I forget how rich my parents are.

"Ahra, hello my beautiful angel." My mother says, bombarding me with affection. I don't hate it though.

"Hi mom, where's dad?" I ask and she leads me to the dining room.

"Oh, here she is. This is my daughter, Song Ahra." My dad says, introducing me to a stranger. I haven't taken my eyes off my father.

What ends up stripping my attention off my father is the tall man in a suit that stands in front of me with his hand extended, expecting me to shake it. I look up and see a handsome man who could be the same age as me.

"Hello?" I say, not shaking his hand and going straight to my father.

"Do not be disrespectful, shake his hand." My father says. I turn around but the guy is already back in his seat. I sit down next to my father and my mother sits next to me.
