"OMG Ahra!" My mother says, running to me the moment the door opens. My mother and Minji practically suffocate me in their hugs, not letting go for a whole two minutes. Once they let go, I give everyone else a hug.
"I'm so glad you are ok, eonni. I prayed that you would be safe." Mina, Mini's sister says and I smile, giving her another quick hug.
"Thank you, Mina." I say and she smiles. We all make our way to the living room.

"I have arranged for you to be off from work for the next week. You will go back on the 30th. You need some time to get over this traumatic event, ok." My father says as we stand by the door, ready to leave. I nod, accepting what my father is telling me.
"I will call you to check up on you every day, ok sweetheart?" My mom says and I nod, giving her one last hug. Seeing my family and friends helped me feel a little better but my chest still feels heavy.
"I'll go over tomorrow, ok?" Minji says and I nod, giving her whatever smile I can force. She just nods, understanding that I'm trying.
We get back into the car and make our way home. It's about 9:00 o'clock at night.
"Sunghoon, are you ok?" I ask him.
"Yeah, I've been in situations like this before and I've trained for this for a while. I was mostly worried about you." He says and I nod, looking back out the window.
Once we finally get home, Sunghoon and I go to our own rooms and shower. I get ready for bed, not really feeling like eating. Once I'm done, I go to Sunghoons room to say good night. I knock on the door and hear the 'come in' from the other side.
"Just wanted to say good night." I say, standing in the doorway. Sunghoon gets up from his bed and walks over to me, giving me another hug. One arm wraps around my waist while the other pats my head, smoothing out my hair.
"Good night, Ahra. I really hope you can get some sleep, ok?" He says, looking at me and I nod. We break the hug and I go to my room.
I get in bed and lay in the dark, thinking about my day. This was one shitty ass day. All I know is that Sunghoon was more comforting than I thought. I honestly didn't even want to leave his room but I know I can't stay in there.
I just lay in my bed, eyes wide open. I suddenly hear a loud boom noise coming from outside.
It wasn't thunder, it sounded like a gunshot. I shoot up in my bed, my eyes already getting watery as I am unpleasantly reminded of the events that transpired today. I get out of my bed and rush over to Sunghoons room. I open the door to find Sunghoon right in front of it. Sunghoon grabs my hand and closes the door, bringing me to his bed.
"Don't worry, it was just a firework. I know, you might not believe me, but trust me I know the difference. When I was little, I used to live in a really bad neighborhood. There were a lot of gunshots, but random people would also play with fireworks all the time. I heard them so often that I was able to know the difference." He says, rubbing my back.
"Sunghoon. C-can I stay here tonight?" I ask, looking at him, searching for an answer in his face. The room was dark, the only source of light was the bright moonlight peaking through the window shades, hitting his face perfectly.
"Yeah, that's fine. Go ahead, get in the covers. I'll get a blanket." He says.
"Wait, what's the blanket for?" I ask and he lets out a small sigh.
"I'll sleep on the floor." He says, and I grab his hand. I can't shake the feeling of insecurity and it only goes away when I have someone I know next to me. Maybe I should have stayed at my parents house tonight.
