I am abruptly woken up by my nagging alarm, ruining my comforting slumber.
"Turn that off." I whine, covering my ears with both my hands. I hear Sunghoon chuckle and the alarm stops.
"It's time to get up, we have a plane to catch." Sunghoon says, rubbing my back. Unfortunately for him, that only made me more comfortable, jokes on you Sunghoon.
"What time even is it?" I say, my voice groggy from just waking.
"Well, you did set the alarm, on your phone. But, it's four thirty in the morning." Sunghoon says. Wtf, why did I do that to myself?
"Why did we book such an early flight? Gosh, it's like we wanted to torture ourselves!" I say, finally shooting up, looking around my room to assess my surroundings. It's still pitch black outside and the room is mostly dark. I remember we put our luggage at the front door last night. Finally, vacation time!
"Ok, I'm up, for real. Let's get ready, I remember why I set that alarm." I say, causing Sunghoon to laugh once more.
We both get up from bed and brush our teeth. After Sunghoon and I got fully ready, we checked over all our necessities for this vacation once more and we had everything. Finally, we hit the road. We'll meet Minji and Heeseung at the airport.
"So, what should we do as soon as we land, you know, after checking into our hotel?" Sunghoon asks and I smile. I've kept a tiny piece of information from him.
"Ok, well we aren't actually staying at a hotel. I thought we were but that's not happening anymore. Mr. Han owns property all over the world, including Costa Rica. So, we are staying at the Hans' beach house in San José! Minji told me yesterday so, surprise?" I say and Sunghoon's eyes go wide.
"Cool right?" I ask and Sunghoon scoffs, a grin on his face.
"Cool? This is way more than cool, Ahra, this is awesome! This trip is continuously blowing my mind and we haven't even made it to the airport." Sunghoon says, a big smile plastered on his face.
"Yup, I feel you babe." I say, giggling at his reaction to this new information.
We eventually make it to the airport, going through all the annoying and, might I add, stressful stages of an airport. Then, it takes us twenty whole minutes just to find our gate, but we do and we find Minji and Heeseung sitting down in our gate seating area, eating breakfast.
"Hey guys, how are we feeling?" I ask, making Minji's head shoot up to look at me.
"Ahra! Hey, you guys are finally here." She says, giving me a hug.
"Well, it took us an embarrassingly long time to find the gate." Sunghoon says and we all laugh.
"Well, I'm sure you guys haven't eaten, you should get something. We board in thirty minutes." Heeseung says and I nod.
"Ok, we'll be back in a few." I say and grab Sunghoon's hand.
"I don't know why but I'm sort of nervous." Sunghoon says, making me smile a little.
"What's there to be nervous of?" I ask and he lets out a sigh.
"I'm sure it's like nervous excitement. And I know we live together, alone, but this is different. It feels different. It feels so, grown? If that even makes sense?" Sunghoon says, rambling a little."I get it. This is honestly my first time out of the country without at least one of my parents, it feels so adult like. This is most likely a result of being coddled by our parents all our life." I say and he chuckles, nodding in agreement.
"But I'm glad I'm with you." He says, rubbing his thumb on the back of my hand.
"Me too." I say, smiling and giving him a nod of reassurance, not that he needed it.
