I thought I said alpha needs fresh air."Diova said, his calm voice filling the air.

As if on cue, like he snapped out of his trance,my best friend turned smiling at Diova. "Skyler said I was calm enough to be here".

"What!!" I screamed earning a glare from Diova as well.

"Not a sound." He said walking away into another room and I turned glaring at my friend, but he had turned to her again and was watching her.

I scoffed rolling my eyes before walking out of the room, now I needed fresh air.

I strode down the hallway with two hot cups of coffee, watching kids run around the infirmary, their pale light blue hospital gown made them glow in an odd kind of way,and a stubborn patient refusing to get on his wheelchair.

It was morning and it was beginning to snow, but I could still see the sky so bright it lightened my mood,I opened the door to see my best friend standing near the window, looking out. There was a nurse changing the bandages of his mate.

I walked up to him, handing him a cup. He nodded in acknowledgement and took a sip of his coffee,he tapped his finger against the window,he always did that whenever he was stressed.

"How is she?" I asked and he turned looking at me,he looked at her before looking out the window again.

"She's fine, and she's recovering quite fast." He said taking another sip.

I remained quiet, sipping my coffee as I watched him tap away with his finger.

"I want her to wake up." He said slowly "I want to tell her how sorry I am,for what she has been through, for what her pack has done to her." He said looking down, pain flashing in his eyes as he said those words, but I smiled, surprise evident in my face,he didn't know what he had said, how easily it rolled off his lips,he had said her pack, I placed my hands on his to comfort him when he said another word that made my eyes bulge out in shock.

"What if she doesn't like me?" He asked and my mouth opened slightly, for the first time in a long time,my best friend was uncertain.

I smiled tapping him " with how worried you are, she's gonna like you." I said and he nodded.

"Get an office table set for me here, I'd do work from here till she wakes up." He said setting his cup aside and I nodded, mind linking someone to get the job done.

He sighed running a hand through his disheveled hair,he looked so tired, he hasn't slept for days now " she's gonna wake up man." I said to him and he nodded looking at his unconscious mate once again.

"There's a lot I'm gonna show her." He said smiling to himself and I couldn't help but smile too, I liked it when he smiled, when he was happy, but it was always short-lived.

A knock on the door interrupted our smiling faces, the nurse went to the door opening it and the person at the door made my smile turn into a scowl,I didn't need to look at my best friend's face cause I could already feel the dangerous aura around him,my best friend was gone,I was standing beside the alpha and it was all this fools fault, I could see fear in the nurse's eyes as she stared at her alpha, she bowed before scurrying away.

The person at the door came in bowing his head "greetings alpha ." He said kneeling as he bared his neck before my alpha and all I wanted to do was to slit his throat.

He was the messenger of the elders, the elders were the oldest members of the pack, wise men with royal blood chosen by the moon goddess, they were always at the North wing of the palace, where they had discussions, council meetings, and when they settled with a conclusion they would have a messenger summon the alpha.

But the elders never really had meetings except it was important or had concerns with the pack, but it didn't mean the elders were not bad news, right from when we were little I'd watch my best friend's dad get summoned, I'd see him go angrily and come back more angrier, and when my best friend had become the alpha,he started to get summoned and as his beta and next in command I had to go with him,and every single time each meeting had been worse than the last.

As the elders were bad news,so were their messengers, somehow they only seemed to come summon us when there was a happy moment, they were like bad eggs.

"Rise." My alpha said snapping me out of my thoughts as the messenger rose to his feet.

"Greetings, beta." He said bowing to me before speaking "the elders has asked me to summon you now, they are awaiting your presence." He said before Bowing his head,my alpha pinched the bridge of his nose before storming out of the room, I followed suit, stopping a while to glare at the messenger whose head remained bowed, how I would love to see it roll off his neck.

My alpha walked down the stairs with me following behind, when we got to the elevator,we stepped in and alpha shut his eyes,I remained quiet,if I spoke now,I didn't know what he would do to me.

We reached the ground floor and alpha opened his eyes, they had turned pitch black,he walked ahead of me turning left and entering the secret passage,he reached the north wing in no time, glaring at the tall building,he pushed the elevator button and went in with me,and he shut his eyes again, when we got to the twentieth floor my alpha opened his eyes and it had returned back to it's original color, other Messengers bowed as we headed for the elders Chambers until we reached the door.

It opened by itself revealing a hall,in the middle was a long table made of gold, the center designed with our logo and our map in the middle, chairs adorned each sides of the table,an intricate design hundred of centuries years old.

I stared at the ceiling, designs that told a story all leading to the center where there was glass. At night you could see the moon through the glass, like it was staring right at you, like the moon goddess was watching you so close, you could feel her presence and power,I stared at the men sitting at each sides of the table all silently watching us,four sitting at the left side, four sitting at the right, and the oldest sitting at the head opposite us,I could see the chair meant for the alpha but I knew he would never sit on it.

"Welcome." The first elder said amongst them and my alpha nodded.

"I know you won't sit even if we beg you to,so we'll go straight to the point." Another said and my alpha nodded.

"We see you've found your mate." Another said again and I turned staring at him, they always did that, each elder had something to say,all nine of them always did.

"Yes." My alpha said, he's voice so calm and deadly.

"Finally." Another said, he's gentle voice making my tense muscle relax just a bit.

"It's a good thing, but according to what we gathered, she was about to be prosecuted cause she attempted to kill the gamma, that's how you found her." Another said and alpha nodded again.

"Well it's good you found your mate, but it doesn't change the fact that she was working for an enemy."another said and I looked at my alpha.

"Why do you think so." Alpha said, walking to the window and staring at the sky, with his hands behind him.

"Cause no one attacks the gamma of the blood moon pack. That's suicidal. The question is why they would send a human." Another said and eight of them nodded.

"But her throwing skills is perfect,it is the topic on everyone's lips,I heard she struck a bone when she threw her knife at him, maybe that's why they sent her." Another said again.

"That's not the point."the oldest and ninth elder said amongst them and the hall became quiet.
