Rachida's eyes blazed with anger as she glared at her brother, Achraf. His nonchalant smirk only fueled her frustration. How could he be so cavalier about leaving behind everything she held dear? Their cat, Pyutun, was just a pretext; her true concerns ran deeper.

"You're always caring about crazy stuff," Achraf chuckled, unfazed by her ire.

Rachida's face contorted in exasperation. "I don't want to leave Pyutun behind..." she protested, her voice trembling.

Achraf snorted. "Come on, Mahira, you never liked Pyutun that much. Calm down, we'll be fine." He often assumed the role of the elder sibling, much to Rachida's dismay.

"Inna-ammi is lovely, and you can't deny it," Achraf continued, referring to their aunt. "Plus, I'll get to live with the GENIUS, my cousin. I've always wanted to brag about that." His enthusiasm was met with Rachida's disdain.

"That's your concern? Living with the GENIUS?" she facepalmed.

Achraf's expression turned wistful. "My classmates never believe me when I say the GENIUS is my cousin. They even asked me to call him to prove it, but he didn't answer." Achraf's determination to prove himself was palpable.

Rachida rolled her eyes. "You've told me this before. It's clear their school can't compare to ours. I refuse to graduate from an excellent high school only to attend some mediocre institute in Nigeria."

Achraf persisted, "You'll love it there, I promise. Please, don't argue with Dad. We've been fighting about this for months."

Rachida threw up her hands. "Two long months! Just drop it, Achraf."

"Fine, as you say, Mahree," he sang, using the nickname she despised.

Rachida sighed, resigned. "Good riddance. And stop calling me that, idiot."

About Rachida Ahmed Hakimi (Mahira)

I'm Rachida, a 17-year-old who graduated with honors from an elite high school in the UK. My life has been a blissful trio with Dad and brother Achraf. However, our harmony was disrupted when Dad proposed relocating to Nigeria to live with his sister and her family. I'm vehemently opposed to this plan.

My father, Ahmed Hakimi, is a Nigerian who studied and settled in London. His father, my grandfather, supported his decision. After finding success and marrying a half-Korean woman, my mother, they had me and Achraf. Tragedy struck when my mother abandoned us.

Dad's sister, Fatima Batoul Hakimi, studied Culinary Arts in London and returned to Nigeria. She married a wealthy man with a lavish lifestyle, despite initial family objections due to his existing marriage.

My grandfather passed away, and we visited Nigeria for his funeral when I was three. That was my last trip to Nigeria. Since then, Dad has provided for us lavishly, and we've remained incredibly close.

Now, with Dad's relocation plan, my world is turned upside down.
