Part 14

Man, Gaafy and Mahira exited the forest green coloured BMW with neutral expressions, each one of them holding large packages and paper bags of which almost all are from designer brands. They had just returned from a fun day of shopping which Gaafy suggested after learning that Mahira did not feel well for the past couple of days.

As they entered the living room, they were a bit astonished to behold the Genius sitting in all elegance while gracefully and stylishly typing away on his laptop.

Someone might think he's intentionally making his fingers look all attractive by twirling and stretching them at the same time when in reality, he has no idea of how appealing the sight of him looks, in complement to the slight frown on his face as well .

Gaafy was the first to make their presence noticeable by making his way to the Genius with a broad smile. Gaafy had always loved the Genius and won't hesitate to call himself a big fan.

When he tilted his head sideways, his eyes fell on her first, he couldn't help but feel unhappy seeing the way Mahira is dressed. Her outfit reveals more skin than he's comfortable with. His heart tightens to the thought of others perceiving her but he averted his gaze and didn't look at her direction again as he exchanged pleasantries with Gaafy and Man.

Mahira's heart began to race at the sight of him. She knew that the Genius is well informed about her little secret. It made her feel uneasy as she stood by the door and not able to walk in further.

A week ago when her menstrual disorder began, she fell unconscious and woke up to find herself at another hospital, not the one that Inna Ammi usually takes her to if she's having her menstrual pain. Achraf informed her that the Genius brought them to the hospital, and since after the doctor explained to him what was wrong with her, he didn't come back to them again, Instead, he sent some maids to take care of them for the whole three days they spent at the hospital.

Just as she was about to move further and greet him, Nadia and Jamila's giggles filled the air as they made their presence into the living room from behind Mahira with wide smiles. As soon as they sighted Gaafy and the Genius, the whole of their being start to shake as they made their way to them, not before Nadia brushed the paper bags Mahira was holding as she walk pass her.

Mahira ignored that action and sashayed to the elevator to go to her room and freshen up, she didn't use the stairs because that will lead her to going across the living room which will make her go closer to them, whereas the elevator is by the other end near the kitchen's emergency exit. She huffed as she resolve her being and her packages into the elevator.

As the elevator door was about to close, the Genius made an unannounced entrance making Mahira to almost stumble, nonetheless her heart beat escalated. It is quite an awkward moment for her. She didn't dare rise her head up to face him rather glued her eyes to the ground, taking in the complex patterns on the elevators floor which she never seem to notice before.

"How are you feeling now." He sensed her uneasiness and decided to inquire.

She was taken aback. She thought he wasn't talking to her at first or maybe she's having a dejavu since she has to admit that she had always loved his voice. There's something about his tone that she has never heard before, the way he speaks and the melody that comes with it, that she can vouch no one has. At least she hasn't met anyone with a bit close to his melodic voice yet.

When she looked up at him, he wasn't looking at her, confirming her suspicions of having a dejavu. She subconsciously finds herself smiling imagining them becoming close so she can listen to his voice everyday just as she listen to Alex's rants every blessed day.

After a few seconds, they both turned to look at each other but Mahira was quick to look away, feeling a bit flustered whereas He didn't blink one bit, "Do I need to repeat myself?" He calmly asked, not knowing what his voice is doing to her whole being.
