20; the internet will not be calm about it!

elena's pov

we head back inside and join everyone else. we stay for a few hours and dance and have a good time but it was now 3am and i think we were all ready to go home.

"guys guys, get in my tiktok" max says as he sets his phone up on the side of the street and we all walk into frame. "so guys, we're just out in the streets of LONDON BABY" max says very very drunkenly and i cheer. "elena come here! come here!" i walk closer to the camera and stand by max. "have you had a good night?" max asks and puts his arm around me. "i had a great night!" i respond smiling at him. "that's good, are you hoping for a cheeky shag when you get home?" max asks me and my mouth forms an O in shock. "maybe, maybe" i say going along with his antics but i look into the camera and mouth the words 'i'm not'. "speaking of which, where's george gone? george!" max shouts. "i'm literally right behind you" george says and laughs. "can i kiss your girlfriend?" max asks. "umm i don't know. does she want you to kiss her?" he asks concerned but laughing. "do you want a kiss darling?" he asks me and i respond "go on then" and we share a very awkward but comedic kiss. max closes his eyes and pouts his lips and keeps leaning until eventually our lips collide for the whole of half a second and we both snap back. "jealous?" he smirks at george. "not at all" george laughs and walks off. "i need to go to bed" i say, drowsiness hitting me. to give you an idea how long max was filming, grace and billy had already managed to leave and get a taxi from the beginning of filming. "yeah you two need to get to bed" andrew laughed putting his arm round both me and max to try gather us to leave . "i'm fine, i'm not THAT drunk" i say leaning into george as we walk. without any of us realising, max had already posted that tiktok we had just filmed.

george and i split off from max and andrew and make into our taxi. i end up falling asleep on george in the taxi as i was so tired. we make it back to our flat building and george keeps telling me i need to be quiet as we get into the flat because alex is asleep. he made me put my finger on my lips and i felt like i was back in year 4 at school. "tip toe" he tells me. "alright is this bloody mission impossible" i joke, too loudly for george's liking as he shhh's me again. we finally make it back into my room and alex doesn't wake up.

i fall asleep fairly quickly that evening and i am then woken by hundreds of notifications and i realise max has posted a drunken tiktok of us all last night. which is fine until i get to about 20 seconds in and he refers to george as my boyfriend and at that point, i know there's no turning back from this. i decide to look at the comments:

@user: tbh we all know what max is like they're probably all joking around

@user: FINALLY CONFIRMED!! IVE BEEN SAYING THIS FOR MONTHS

@user: but i thought george was dating grace??

@user: did no one else see the kissing photos then?? because i thought that was enough proof??

i also checked twitter and there was one particular tweet that had gone viral:

@user: guys, i think we should all calm down. max is known for being a massive joker and taking the piss, it could just be like an inside joke or trying to stir the rumours up?? idk

no one's jumping to conclusions, i was behind elena and grace in the toilets in a bar and she told me that her and george were dating!

i feel george moving around next to me. a couple minutes later, he's awake. "morning" he says, looking up at me sat up on my phone. "morning" i smile back at him. i'm thinking how i can break this to him. "umm, max posted that tiktok we filmed last night" i tell george. "oh god i bet we all sound so drunk in it" he groaned as he rubbed his eyes. "yeah well, he also calls me your girlfriend in it" i add. "oh shit really?" "yep and apparently i told some girl in the toilets of the bar that me and you were dating so she's come forward too. there's basically no denying it now" i shrug. "how does that make you feel? i mean the kissing photos kinda did us in anyways" george says. "i don't know. it's nice being private but i suppose people were gonna find out eventually, our lives are online it's hard to keep it a secret" i say. "i mean it does us a favour we don't have to do a cringey announcement post or anything. i rate we just keep doing what we're doing, we don't need to make it a big deal just if we're gonna mention it, make it casual and hopefully that might make everyone else more casual about it if we don't make a big deal" george suggest and i agree "you're right but i also feel like, the internet will not be calm about it!" i laugh. "well i mean tiktok's hottest guy is now unavailable so i get it" george jokes. "piss off" i say, getting out of bed. "you feeling okay about it though?" george rolls over and looks me in the eyes sincerely. "yeah i think so. i think the photo leak kinda prepared me for this, i don't really care anymore" i shrug. "you promise you'd tell me if you were worried or upset?" george asks. "i promise" i climb back over the bed to kiss his lips as he was still laying down. "come back to bed" he whines. "i've got a studio session, i can't. got to finish all the songs i've wrote about you" i tease. "all good ones i hope" george says as i turn around to my wardrobe to get changed. "hmm you'll see" i tease him again.
