part 2 pookies<3
-a few months after the first part-
3rd person pov:
Y/n's last couple of months had been a struggle. Her friends were aware of it- and so was Harry. He felt horrible about breaking up with her- he didn't really know why he had done it... except he kind of did.
Y/n had told him she loved him. Harry loved the girl, so so much, which he was now realizing after breaking up with her.
He had gotten scared... overwhelmed. He noticed the way she looked at him, eyes sparkling, he felt her love, coursing through her when they hugged, when they kissed, when they slept together... Harry was afraid he wasn't enough for her.
Y/n was now afraid that she wasn't enough for Harry. She had been completely honest with him- and he had run away. Ron had told her that Harry loved her, he was just being a 'right bastard' about it.
She should talk to him, she felt. She wanted to, just to hear what he had to say and to clarify everything.
But Y/n was scared. She knew that Harry wasn't a dickhead, but things had been put into perspective for her recently. What if he wasn't who she thought he was?
-a few days later-
Harry took a deep breath. Ginny had helped him get up into the girls dormitory, and now he stood outside of Y/n's door, ready to knock.
He had to do it. He had to explain. He knew she wouldn't probably want to be with him again, but he felt the need to try.
"Alright, here we go." Harry rapped three times on the oak before stepping back.
"Be right there!"
He closed his eyes at the sound of her voice. He missed her so much.
"Oh! Harry! Um, hi. What can I do for you?"
Y/n's h/c hair was messy- it was clear she was still getting ready for school. Her e/c eyes were steely and filled with distrust as she ran them up and down his body.
He felt awful. A lump formed in his throat, but he swallowed it, and continued with his plan.
"Morning Y/n, I was wondering if I could have a chance to talk to you? About, erm... our breakup?"
She bit her lower lip, fretting.
"Sure, alright. How long will you be? I don't really want to be late for class."
Harry's eyes nearly popped out of his head as Y/n stood aside, beckoning him into her room.
The last time I was in here was quiet different, he thought to himself, remembering the night after Gryffindor had won the Quidditch Cup...
Focus, Potter, he chastised, sitting politely on the end of her bed.
"Go for it." Y/n said, sitting at her desk and crossing her arms.
"Well, I don't want to sound like a prick. And I don't want to sound like every other douche. So with those two things in mind, can you just listen to me free of judgement?" he asked sincerely.
Y/n wanted to roll her eyes, but she could tell he was trying to be honest.
"Yes."
Harry took a deep breath.
"When you told me you loved me, I was..." he searched for the right word. "Incredibly happy. I love- um, loved you too. But I didn't know how to say it. I was feeling insecure. I could tell that I made you happy, and that made me happy, because all I've ever wanted is to make you happy..." he began to get choked up, so cleared his throat and started again. "I felt- feel that I'm not enough for you."
Harry looked up at his once-girlfriend, who also had tears shining in her eyes.
"I am broken. I have been since birth. I have a lot of fear inside of me, and the last thing I want to do is project that onto you, which I guess I ended up doing anyway."
Harry sniffed, once, twice, then stood up. "I guess that's it. Thanks for letting me explain, Y/n."
He began to head for the door, hand reaching for the knob.
Y/n sighed.
"Harry, wait."
He turned, to find her right behind him, reaching up to place a hand on his cheek.
"I'm glad you feel comfortable sharing your emotions with me. But I wish you had shared them sooner. We could've avoided all of this," she chuckled, a tear dripping down her cheek. "I will never be afraid of whatever you hold inside you," she placed a hand on his chest, feeling his heartbeat. "I still love you. Yes, you hurt my feelings, but I trust you. All I ask is, if we try this again, that you be as honest with me as you can."
Tears began to roll down Harry's face. He loved this girl so much.
"Thank you." He whispered.
She smiled, a real smile, and kissed him softly. The kiss was salty, and sad, but good.
Every bright neon sign turned into stars
And the sun and moon seemed to be oursEach road that we took, it turned to gold
