~ BRIELLE~

Saturday, on the 21st of May, clear skies, and the sun smiles brightly to the world.

Since yesterday, most people around me have been happily smiling, laughing, and giving their congratulatory remarks to this wonderful union. Happiness is visible on each of their faces waiting for this very moment.

Yeah right. Today is not a happy moment. Today is doomsday!

"Brielle? Are you done?"

Nagulat ako sa biglang pagkatok ni Aileen sa dressing room. "Almost!"

Kanina pa ako nakatingin sa pesteng wedding gown na hawak ko habang iniisip kung itutuloy ko pa ba ito o magrurun-away bride na lang ako tulad ng mga nasa teleserye. But on the second thought, uso pa ba ang runaway bride?

There's only 0.001% chance na may knight in shining armour na gwapo akong makilala along the way, on top of that, sigurado akong ipapahanap ako ng kampon ng leon. Baka mamaya ipatawag niya ang mga nasa animal kingdom plus ang demonyo niyang mga friends. Wala akong laban sa mga iyon, isa lang akong diwata ng kagandahan. Hindi pang-animal kingdom ang beauty ko.

"Avy? Are you still changing? Do you need help?"

Now Bria is here. Kapag iisipin ko pa ang plano kong tumakas ngayon baka madagdagan pa ang dumating sa kwartong ito.

"Malapit na, wait lang."

Sapilitan kong isinuot ang gown na dapat kong gamitin sa nasabing celebrasyon. J.Laureen's latest wedding dress on spring collection. It's an off the shoulder V back wedding dress with long sweep train and tiny diamond sequences. Again, another expensive outfit na mas malaki pa sa sweldo ko sa isang taon.

"O.M.G! Avy!" Bria rushed in to hug me tightly, as if she'd seen her favourite hollywood crush.

"Bria, hindi ako makahinga. Pwede humingi ng space?"

"Oh sorry. Na-excite lang. You look so pretty."

"I know, sis. No need to state the obvious." I walked to the nearest chair to sit down dahil nakakangawit ako ang bigat ng aking suot.

" So? How are you feeling?" Bria immediately came to my side and checked my makeup.

"Shitty."

"Bakit naman? This is your moment, Avy. Didn't you dream about this?"

"Dream Bria. Hanggang doon lang. Hindi ko ginustong magkatotoo ang lahat ng ito."

Brianna knew about my stupid childish dream of a fairytale like wedding with a prince charming. She knew how I considered myself a princess ready to be a queen when my prince charming comes, but reality is cruel.

Fairy tales only happen in a story. If my child self waited for a prince to knock on her door and swept her feet, I did not. I opened that damn door before someone knocked because behind that door was not a prince. It's reality that came to drag me out of my fantasy.

"Oh good, you're done." I looked at Aileen who just entered my room holding a box and a bouquet of peony?

"Wait? Is that for my wedding bouquet?"

"Yes. Is there a problem?" Aileen was confused while handing the flower.

This is not what I chose. I didn't pick peonies to be in any of my floral arrangements.

"I'm supposed to have gardenia as my main flower for the wedding bouquet."

Iyon lang ang ambag ko sa kasal na ito. Tita Ophelia planned and hand-pick everything else for the wedding, except the flowers na ako mismo ang nag-request sa kanya.

"Are you sure? Should I call the wedding planner to check?" Before Aileen could call someone, the sound of my phone covered the rooms.

I grabbed the phone, and when I saw the caller I.D. I instantly rolled my eyes. Mystery solved.

"Alexander!!! Anong ginawa mo?!" Bria and Aileen jumped in surprise when they heard me yell without caring.

"Sheez, Hello to you too."

"Hindi ako nagbibiro. Sagutin mo ang tanong ko!"

"Calm down. It's not that I didn't hear you the first time."

"Paano ako kakalma kung pinakialaman mo yung magandang plano ko!"

"You're not going to die if we change a little thing in your plan."

"I. Will. So. Speak. Now."

"The flowers are not that bad, but it would be better if we at least include your favorite flower in the mix, so I asked the florist to make a simple adjustment."

"This is not simple. The main flower changed, including the other flowers, greenery, and the ribbon."

"I just made sure it matches."

"Ugh. Can I just back out."

"Brielle." Nagulat ako sa pagsabat ni Bria. Hindi ko alam na nasabi ko pala 'yon ng malakas.

''Am not happy right now Bria."

"I know, but it's not that bad. Maganda rin naman kung ilagay natin ang favourite flower mo sa entourage hindi ba? Besides, it has a good meaning in the language of flowers."

Happy marriage. I know kaya nga hindi ko ginamit dahil iyon ang ibig sabihin. Isa pa, my marriage is not happy. It's just a legal contract, nothing more.

"Hey luv?"

I frowned. Hindi ko pa pala na-end call. "What?!"

"I know you're not going to be happy with it-"

"Ofcourse, I'm not!"

"Yeah, I know. And I don't want a frowning face or a dagger look to be walking down the aisle so..."

Hindi ko na narinig ang sinabi ni Alexander dahil napunta ang atensyon ko sa bagong dating na may dalang maliit na box galing sa...Magic Autumn?

"Wait. Is that..." Inilapit ni Aileen sa akin ang box, at Magic Autumn nga!

"Your favourite shop." Aileen opened the box and my eyes twinkled to see what's inside. "Wow macarons. One of your favourites."

Yes it is. French macarons na hindi basic favour. Customize.

"Oh? Did it arrive?"

"What is this Alexander?"

"For a better mood." I can feel him grinning on the other side of the line.

"Anong better mood. I'm still not in a good mood."

The flavour looks appetizing. I should try this strawberry cheesecake first.

"Your welcome, luv."

I frowned, "Anong your welcome. I did not say anything other than I'm not in a good mood."

"Sure. Just continue eating. There should be tea in the room to match the flavour so go ahead and try."

Seryoso, may CCTV ba dito at nakikita niya ang ginagawa ko?

"Whatever. Bye."

"I'll see you later, wife."
